    This is tricky.

Windows assumes all your files and programs are installed under ADMIN, however most aren't so when Windows looks at its Source list and cannot find your 02k3 files there, Windows gets lost.

What we need to change is Windows expected install/update source to point back to your CDRom drive.

Hi gailhauck1,

Yes there is hope. First off, you are going to need to provide yourself with the unlock key. If you have handy great, if not, go to HERE and download this program and run it. In the lower portion of the report it will show you your unlock keys for Office.

Next, you can either borrow someone else's disk to load, or go to Microsoft. HERE which is service pack 3, which if you have 2003 at all loaded on the machine, this will fix problems, but it will ask for that key.

If you've got no one to borrow the disk and you deleted Office from your computer entirely, then you will need to contact Microsoft HERE.

Good Luck,

Mark

I just bought this brand spankin' new laptop and it has Vista on it... then the MS Office Home/Student 2007 and that kept asking me for a Prod Key... I tried the one on the laptop.

Hi there!
You should ask your laptop retailer if the Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 that is installed in your computer is a full version or just a trial version. Normally, if that is a full version, it should come with an installation disc and the product key should be on the package where the disc is inserted.
Hope this helps.

MS Excel is not afree program.
You will need to purchase a copy of MS Office which includes Excel.
For an alternative free program OPEN OFFICE is a full-featured officesuite that's compatible with Microsoft Office.
If you want Open Office you can download this free program.

Dont like the fact that I do not have the toolbars as I did in 2003 edition. How can I get back to 2003 version?

if you've recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007 from 2003 and weren't happy with the decision, you can easily revert back to your older software. Each version of the Office software package will be considered a different program by your computer's operating system, so to revert back to your previous installation you only need to uninstall Office 2007 and reinstall Office 2003. Difficulty: Easy flow my Instructions
  1. Uninstall Office 2007. To do this, open the "Control Panel" and select "Add or Remove Programs." Click "Microsoft Office 2007" and then click "Remove."
  2. Put your Microsoft Office 2003 compact disc in your computer's appropriate drive. Either a CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive will work.
  3. Click "Next" to begin the installer for Office 2003. Continue to click "Next" until you reach the screen where you are asked for your product key code. Enter the product key code found in the Office 2003 packaging and click "Next."
  4. Enter your name, business name and initials (if you so choose). Click "Next."
  5. Choose which type of installation you would like to perform. You can choose to install each program in the Office 2003 productivity pack, a "typical" installation which installs only the most widely used programs like Word and PowerPoint, or a custom installation where you individually choose which programs will be installed.
  6. Click "Next" to view a summary of all of the installation settings you've specified. If you're happy with the summary, click "Install." This will install Microsoft Office 2003 on your computer using the settings you've meticulously specified.
hope that it will be help full

Prod key provided does not work

You must use the product code provided with the Microsoft Home and Office package, NOT one provided for your Windows operating system

When you purchased the MS home and Office (seperate from the PC) there will be a label inside the package for that package and only that package..

You need to locate the license booklet or the installer casing or ask the retailer for the product key.

You need a valid license to be able to use MS Office.

Reinstalled Windws XP. Need 2 loc Office Prod ID within my Backup

Sorry, not many options for you. For MS Office that key you need is on the CD Holder. If you do not have it any longer, it won't be in an old backup. Microsoft is very particular about these, so I don't recommend trying to locate one online. (You can try) More than likely you will have to borrow someone's, or get a new copy.

I do know if your a student you can get Microsoft 59 dollar Office Suite...Its really a sweet deal, heare is the link.

I need a 25 character product key for my microsoft licence

You may be able to find the product key for a full version in more than one location, depending on how it was obtained (CD/DVD, downloaded, subscription, or preinstalled by the computer manufacturer, system builder, or reseller). To find the product key for a full version, check the following locations:
  • Sticker on the CD case or other packaging.
  • Certificate of Authenticity.
  • Confirmation e-mail message that was received from an online purchase.
  • Sticker on the computer.
  • Documentation or user manual included with your computer.
If you cannot find your product key, you can obtain a new one. To obtain a new product key, contact Support. Find the Support telephone number for your area by running the Product Activation Wizard on your computer.
