Question about GE 30" Self-Cleaning Freestanding Gas Range - Stainless-Steel
I have a GE JGBP26GEJ range using LP. The burners work fine, and the oven works fine. But if I have just turned the burner on, and then the oven, or have the oven on first and then turn the burn(s) on, the burners will either go out, or sputter and then go out. If the burner has been going for a while when I turn the oven on, that burner will stay lit, but any burner turned on afterward will go out. If I turn the oven off and turn the burners on for a few minutes I can then turn the oven on and everything works. I've had several technicians check the range out, with no success.
I have fix that problem before, the oven heat is soficating the top burners, you will have to adjust top burners with the oven on, so that they will light by them selfs.Or put a shield under the cook top section on the back, so that the heat will not come to the burners where they get the oxigen.

If you have standing pilots, make sure the pilot for the oven/broiler is lit as well. When you turn the thermostat up to call for heat, you should see the pilot get larger. That larger pilot flame heats a hydraulic sensor and opens the main burner valve.

I had a similar problem. The power failure might just have been a coincidence.Sounds to me like your lower oven igniter may have gone bad such as mine did.
