Black line when making copies

When I print from my computer either in Black and White or Color, everything is fine. When I go to make a copy from the feed or flatbed I get a line down the length of my paper. My drum still has 6% so I would think this is enough and I should not be getting lines

A line down a paper on either a printer or scanner is classic sign of scratched drum. The certainty of it is in the fact the line is at the same place each time. Drum needs to be replaced.

First tray printing a black and white copy to see if you get same quality problem then try each individual color. If it shows on each copy then check The transfer belt Assy . If it only shows on one color then would be a drum unit or could be toner on laser shield glass . Other thing stop it during copying process and see where it's coming from look at drums and see if that shows up on them

Black image streaks on sharp 2700n


You only have to make single color copies with each color CMYK
and check all the copies if only the black and white copies is smeary
then replace only the black the drum unit.

I have a MX4101N and we are trying to make a copy of a Business Week article. It printed fine to the copier but when we try and make copies of the document there is a yellow line going across each page. ...


If this only happens when copying clean all the glass under the document cover.

If this happens print and copy clean the yellow charge unit with the cleaner (see trouble guide).

Their should be a Black Copy button and a Color Copy  Button . When wanting to copy a document in color you must choose the color start button.. Good Luck

Blurry Scanning/Copying


Are you scanning both black and white and color the same way? The ADF (automatic document feeder) uses a different scanning area than when you place the document on the scanning glass. If you open the scanner cover, look to the left of the main scanner glass to the narrow strip used for the ADF. Make sure this narrow strip is clean -- no ink or white-out or scratches. This can make your copies look dirty or smudged.

I have a xerox dc12 with error message please turn machine off and on again 9-363 have tried several times but no good! what else can I do?


That's a process problem with that machine.
May require a service call .ON and OFF is pretty much all a customer can do and wait for it to setup.
NOTE: The problem occurs because of the trickle development system in the machine, making extended lengths of black and white copies / prints does not allow the black developer housing to purge itself of excess waste Toner (Dry Ink) and Developer. There are two solutions for the problem:
  • Make 1,000 copies / prints of a black and white job, then make 150 copies / prints of full color. Continue making 1,000 copies / prints of the black and white job, then 150 full color, and so on, until the entire black and white job is complete.
  • Make extended jobs in groups of 100 by making 100 copies / prints of the black and white job, then allowing the machine to cycle down (return to 'Ready') and making the next 100 copies / prints. Continue in this pattern until the entire black and white job is complete.
