Question about Microsoft LIVE ONECARE 2.0 XP/Vista for PC

1 Answer

Unable to access Windows Live OneCare options of actions needed

I installed Windows Live OneCare 12/25/08. The icon on bottom right of screen shows yellow which means action is needed. When I open Windows Live OneCare with options of actions needed I am unable to select an option since the hour glass appears instead of an arrow keeping me from selecting an option. Does Windows Live OneCare have a phone number to call?

Right click on the icon at the bottom right, and then click "Get help at help center".
You can look for various solutions and if nothing works,
then at the bottom right of each help topic, there is a "contact support" link which will give you further instructions.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to run anti-virus?

First of all you should have antivirus software disk or Antivirus setup file which you have downloaded

If you do not have one, download one of these and once the download is complete, Run the Setup file. It will complete the installation.

Once the Software Installation is complete. On the right side corner of your pc ( where the Clock/time is ) you will find an icon. you can click on it and run the Scan option to scan virus in your pc

I cant download anything on my pc, it says winssnotify.exe unable to locate this application has failed to start because cert.dll was not found reinstalling may fixt it, and also it says, RUNDLL error...

winssnotify.exe is a program that is associated with windows "One Care." Unless you specified otherwise, you should see the One Care icon near running programs (area near the clock, on the bottom right of your screen). Go to Control Panel, uninstall/install programs and Reinstall or repair One Care. One Care is legit, and has firewall/virus options associated with it. If you recently uninstalled the program or installed another antivirus program, that may be your issue. If you uninstalled it, there may be files that were not removed or another program may have identified Onecare files as spyware. If you recently did anything like a "registry cleaner" or supposed "scan" of your system from a less than reputable online source, that can definitely be your issue. If you never downloaded Onecare, the program may be an imposter. It should be located under program files in the one care folder. If you do have this program, Onecare has a website scan to help users with problems. Hope this helps. Leave a comment if you need further assistance.

OneCare product code...where do I find it?

When you signed up for the service, you should have received a confirmation e-mail that contains the steps you need to take in order to activate the service. Normailly, you just need to install the software and during the final steps, you log in using a Windows Live ID to perform the activation. If you don't already have an ID, you can create one at that time using your existing e-mail address or by creating a new (free) Hotmail account.

try to resent your windows live id:
Reset a Windows Live ID or fix an unavailable Windows Live ID When you installed OneCare, you may have entered a Windows Live ID. When you try to activate your OneCare subscription using a different Windows Live ID, the Windows Live ID may be unavailable, and you are unable to update or change it. Run the following tool to reset your Windows Live ID.
  1. Copy the following web address, open your Internet browser, paste the address in the address box of your browser, and then press ENTER. http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/7/5/f759f03c-cee7-4e3d-978c-0d56b9a8533b/RemoveMachine.exe

  2. Click Save.
  3. Select a location where you want to save the file, and then click Save.
  4. Go to the location where you saved the file.
In Windows XP, double-click the file.
    –or–

In Windows Vista, right-click the file, and then click Run as administrator.
  5. Click Run, and then click Continue.
  6. When the repair tool starts, click Continue.
  7. Read the licensing agreement. If you agree to it, click I accept the terms of the End?User Licensing Agreement, and then click Continue.
  8. Click Start.
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  10. When the installation is complete, open OneCare, and then click Subscribe.
if that does not work try to contact live one support:

If you have a paid subscription, you're eligible to receive e-mail, chat, or telephone support. However, if you have a free trial subscription, you're eligible to receive only e-mail support.

To submit a Service Request and contact a OneCare Support agent:
  1. At the bottom of any Help topic, click Contact support, and then click Get support.
  2. In the Contact Support window, select the type of support that you want, and then select whether you want help with a new issue or with an existing issue. If it is a new issue, select whether the issue is related to the computer that you're using now or to a different computer.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Enter the appropriate subscription information, and then click Continue.
  5. Enter detailed information about the issue that you're experiencing, and then click Continue to receive your Service Request number.
You'll need this Service Request number when you start your session with a Customer Support agent.
good luck Ray
