CONCEPT SERIES, W/ MAGIC CONTROL CENTER, DOESN'T LIGHT. CANNOT LIGHT WITH LIGHTER EVEN THOUGH THE PILOT LIGHT STAYS ON.
I have a Magic Chief Concept Series oven - Replaced the Thermo-coupler and the control switch. I now have a pilot light but the thermo-coupler doesn't get hot enough to light the burner, But if I take a lighter and put it on the thermo-coupler it will but when I take if off it shuts off after a few seconds. Could you please give me Ideas of what could be wrong
SOURCE: Oven does not work.
Just a guess. There may be something called a thermo-coupler which needs to feel the heat of the pilot light before it will allow the gas to turn on. If it's not working ... no gas.

You have a defective pilot safety valve. Due to the age, the part may no longer be available. If you can find it, have it changed by an authorized gas technician. Also replace the pilot orafice. It should be a .014 orafice.
SOURCE: Magic Chef range the pilot on the oven will not light.
Is this a manual lighting pilot,do you light it?
If so you may have a bad gas valve.
If this is an auto light pilot it could be the electronic spark is bad.Im guessing the popping noise is the autospark trying to light.

OK, you will need to watch the pilot when you turn the temp control. It should get longer and give heat to a coupler that should be attached to your gas valve. If the pilot does not extend when you turn the temp control then the temp control is bad. if it does then your valve is bad.
I hope I got the right kind of machine doing this blind.

Raise the top cover (with the burner eyes). There should be a nomenclature plate riveted into the upper pan, under the cover.
