Question about HTC Touch Diamond Smartphone
The headphone icon means that you are connected to either a headset or bluetooth for external audio.
If these are not plugged in or running, it would be the headset connector is stuck, thinking that you have a headset still plugged in.
Unfortunately you wil need to visit a service centre for this.
Try turning off all wireless, incl bluetooth and see if this goes away

I called and spoke to HTC ..apaprently there are issues with some of the handsets .. and its power related ... the best this is to do 2 things to solve any number of issues....
A: Get a replacment battery, and recharge it fully without turning the phone on. So plug it in and charge it until the white pulsating light is fully lit and not 'breathing' ..as they say. Once fully charged then turn on your phone...
B: Once on ... 'hardware' reset it - (you turn on the phone, holding the volume down button, and the hang up button and pressing the 'software reset button, at the same time)
Should solve it ... IF it dosent .. and your getting the same issues after battery replacment, software and hardware resets ...you've basically got a 'hardware' issue with the phone in which case you need a replacment or repair... (make sure your phone is insured)
Hope that helps folks...
p.s. My phone eventually stopped charging ...nothing, no power so i sent it back for a replacment which im waiting for to arrive...

Sane happened just on my diamond. I heated it alot in my hands, then i turned it on, when the red text came in the start i pickt out the battery. Inserted it again and started the phone. Then my touch was acting up with pushing 4 all the time. That was a good sign, at least the touch was still working. Then i hitted it some times, sounds stupid but then i got it working again. The battery solution was helping the most, but hitting it softly also helped with the 4 button problem.
Hope this helps some of u out there with the same problem.
