Question about D-Link DGL-4500 Wireless Router
Its blocking my laptop from my network. i need my laptop to be able to see the network now, I cant set up my slingbox otherwise. Awhile ago i set the router to be used as an access point, i believe it was on the router its self, and i cant figure out where to set it to allow me back on the network. The main computer on the network is running windows xp, and it may also be a setting there.
make sure the dsl modem is in bridge mode. you do this by connecting directly to the modem then accessing modem configuration page. after doing this connect the way everything was before. now go to router admin page, then setup tab at the top, then choose internet, manual setup. in the place where its says my internet connection is select PPPoE. then put in your dsl username, password and etc. save settings. this should fix the problem

Download the official manual (in PDF format) here: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dgl4500/Manual/dgl4500_manual_11.zip
And refer to page 15 (time setup). In short, login to the D-link web-interface, choose 'Tools' and then 'Time', adjust it and press the 'Save Settings' button ...

If you don't see any devices connected in the DHCP client list on the router interface even when you are sure of the devices being connected, only a firmware update or a re-flashing of firmware can help. You can find the latest firmware available on the d-link support site. You can verify the model and version numbers and download the corresponding firmware. This is only fix.

You should be able torom your access your D-Link Router from your browser.
Connect your laptop or Desktop to the router with an RJ-45 cable (just your regular ethernet cable)
Make sure you can access the web by search whatever.
If you have interet connection working - you'll need to take a peek under the router, on the bottom of it and you should see an access IP address - this is usually 192.168.0.1 but your could be different.
Once you have the correct IP addres you'll need to type it into your opened browser as follows:
//192.168.1.1 or whatever it is and it should prompt you with a user name and password box:
by default your username: admin and password: "admin" or "password"
unless you have set a previouse password for it use the above information
If you did set a password for it previousely and have forgotten it you need to rest your router completely by: get a paper clip and straighten it out and at the back of the router there should be a reset button, very small, and with the paper clip push on this button for 1 minute. Go back and try to enter the Router through the browser.
