Question about Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) Console

1 Answer

I was playing a game when my psp just turned off because the battery is already low or drained. I was not able to recharge the battery after a few days and when I did, I tried to turn on the psp and it returned to the last game I played but my psp hunged. I tried to reset and moved the controllers but none of them is functioning. What seems to be the problem?

My psp wont turn on

Try scraping off any excess "gunk" between the battery and the terminal. if theres not any, good. Try to find a friend who has another PSP and plug in his battery, if this works, follow solution 2. If not, read solution 1.

Solution 1: If your PSP was being updated and turned off, this is a BAD THING. From personal experience, you have fried your PSP. Ive attempted to fix this problem and the only way to do so is if its still under warranty.

Solution 2: Your Charger or Battery is broken. Please attempt to drain your friends battery, then use your charger to attempt and recharge. if it does, the battery is dead. if it doesnt, you need a new charger.

Please message me with feedback, thanks

The PSP will not stay charged. My son used to always play it while it was charging. I was wondering if this would bring about an issue with the battery.

During charging the battery gaining some power to recharge itself. When you use it while charging the battery forced to give you enough power to operate the PSP.It seems your are using power directly from charger instead from battery, and It could damaged the cell. All you can do is to replace it with same model battery and dont play it while charging. If possible turn off the unit while charging.God bless

its because the psp version where change that's why the psp stops working on games only psp version's with m33 can play download games and other might depend on your umd games...so i suggest that you downgrade your psp to the original version of the psp that you have so your son can play the games that he want. hope it helped.. send me a message for more concerns...ty

Will not take a charge.

If it's a really old model, the battery may be completely used up. Rechargable batteries don't last forever. If you've ever had a cell phone for a few years, you'd notice that a full charge lasts less and less as time goes on. Anyway, try cleaning the little gold, metal surfaces where the battery and the psp meet. If someone else you know has a psp, try their battery. If it is just your battery, I'm sure you can find a replacement on eBay for pretty cheap.
