Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
When I put in Cod4 disc, it reads "Please put disc in 360 console."
I just got this console for xmas. It's an Elite. I've been playing Halo 3 and other games since then, this game is the only one acting up.
But, people have been trying to tell me it's my console that won't read the disc, not the game.
So my question is, do I return the game and/or send in the console?
Microsoft Xbox have some common problem like red lights, E74 Error and Disc Read Error. Microsoft is providing extended warranty for red lights problem, Means you will have to spend some money in order to get this problem repaired from Microsoft also you will have to wait for 3-4 weeks to get your Xbox back. There are many reasons disc read error can occur in your Xbox like your disc might not be clean, laser might also be dirty and many more common problem. I would suggest you to first clean out the disc, you are using. If that don't solve the problem you can also take the help of DIY guide available at Internet. I think you have got good no. of options to get your Xbox repaired, Choice is yours.

How many times have you tried to play the disc?
the 360 is prone to many disc read errors, and most of the time if you just keep trying to play the disc it will work. xbox recognized the problem, and with the new dashboard update you can install games to your hard drive which minimizes the time the disk is spinning, which in turn minimizes disk read errors.
if it doesn't play, I would deffinetly try getting a new copy before sending in the console. getting a new copy is just a trip to the store, sending in the console will take a month.
