Question about Dacor Epicure ERD30 Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Electric range control panel dim

I am wondering if there is a way to adjust the brightness of the control panel. During the daytime (not in direct sunlight) it is very hard to read the panel indications. I looked for a varistor, but could not see one.

Re: Electric range control panel dim

They pretty much are what they are. I've seen many failures of this type on dacor wall ovens that result in having to replace the display board, but must admit I've never seen it on their ranges. Chances are thats what you're going to have to do as well. Not what you want to hear, but replacement is probably your only option. Good luck!

Adjusting clock brightness on electric range.

Very few ranges have any type of display dimming. Dacor is the only one I know of. If the display is very dim and hard to read, you will need to replace the clock or Electronic Oven Control. If the range is still under warranty, call Whirlpool and request service.

Not heating properly

There are two possibilities, both of which I think you will need a technician to diagnose. There is an electronic sensor on the later model ovens that sends info to the Electronic Oven Control (If you have a touch panel yours is electronic), or the older ovens use a hydraulic thermostat. The sensor on the electronic model can mess up temperature or it can be the EOC. On the older models, usually there is only the thermostat where you adjust temperatue that can cause this problem. Because you elements get red, they are OK, your problem is in the regulation of them. good luck, AJ

Electronic Display

Further inspection found that the ribbon got damaged during the re-instalation of the clock board. A new front control board had to be ordered and installed.
