Go to www.kb.sony.com. Look up user manuel. It sounds like the timer is turned on. Mine is duing the same thing but a little different. They tell me to unplug from powere surge protector and leave unpluged for awhile then plug into wall. I am waiting right now so we will see what happens. Make sure you have your model number before going on the site.

tv had found a fault to troubleshoot use model number and search for the fault code on manual.some indicator may blink several times to release the symptom.

Hi, Symptom shows Lamp is weak in result and causing restart of TV again and again. Your TV requires new lamp as per following part number... A1085447A* LAMP BLOCK ASSY XL-2200U It is available in Sony Accessories Store for $200 and replacement procedure is written in instruction manual of TV.
Always buy Sony original lamp for TV and avoid aftermarket / cheap lamp for TV safety.

I get 5 blinking red lights for about a minute or so before it powers back down. The Sony TV has a specific light that i presume is supposed to light up when the bulb is out. I'm unsure if this is what it is. no picture, no sound. tries to boot with green light blinking a few times. then goes to red blinking light, six in all, then waits a few moments, then another 6 blinking red light.
Bulb was already replaced several months ago but we do have the TV on for long periods of time.
