Windows xp dimension 2350 sound card help

Well i mistakenly uninstalled what i know think (after hours of web searching) was the sound card, through the control panel. Know i have no sound in anyway on my pc. I know i have the actual sound card driver thingy in my computer. I just dont have the driver files or cd to reinstall it. All i need to know is the common manufacturer who installed the driver into windows xp home edition dimension 2350. so then i can then download the drivers i need from the manufacturers' website.

First right click my computer then properties
scroll done and you'll see your audio in there somewhere
if it's there then click on it and update driver
if it is not then I can tell you how to add your driver again

After a virus infected my Dell dimension 2350 (XP), I replaced the hard drive with one running Windows 7. After increasing my RAM, I still have some serious resolution problems on my Samsung 172N moni

Hey Tim,.
Once you installed Windows 7 onto the hard drive you would need to have installed the drivers. The one driver that is needed for resolution is the video card. You can right click on the desktop and then choose screen ressolution to see if you can change the resolution. Unfortunately, Dell does not have any Windows 7 drivers for the Dimension 2350 system.

I installed a new hard drive into a dell dimensions 2350 and I am trying to install windows xp from disc. it says "please wait while setup formats the partition" and the bar is at 2% for an hour?...

Hello,

First try selecting "Quick Format" when you get to the place where you format the drive.

If that fails there is a program called diskpart.exe in C:\Windows\System32. Put your drive in a functional computer.

To do this you have to know the size of your drive.

Run diskpart.exe. Then enter "List Disk".

This file YOUR drive in the list. You identify it by it's size. If the drive can not be identified by size then EXIT.

The enter "Select Disk A" where A is the NUMBER of YOUR drive from the list "List Disk" showed you.

WARNING! Under NO circumstance select disk 0!

Then enter "Clean".

Then take the drive and put it back in your computer.

It will make it through the XP installation process after that.

Hope this helps.

You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operating system. I need the usb controller driver for the dell dimension 2350 know where i can find it? thanks

The USB controller driver for Windows XP is a Native XP driver. If you have a problem with it, boot to the safe mode, go to device manager, remove the controller from list, make sure all USB devices are disconnected (Keyboard and Mouse excepted) reboot and let the controller re-detect.

If that doesn't work, then try a repair install of XP
