Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 Webcam
I recently got a LifeCam from a friend for my birthday, I put the CD into my drive to install the program. But when I try to install it says "Setup cannot continue beacuse you are not connected to the iternet or theserver is univalable. Connect to the internet and then run the setup again. During the setup proccess, accept and security or firewall messages. If this is unsuccesfull please try again later" I turned my firewall off and it still comes up with this message, It's been doing it for a week. I even tried to manualy download the drivers from the website. It still wont work, it comes up with the "Error 404" Does anyone know how to solve this. I have an active internet connection 24/7
I had Lifecam-5000 installed and working, bought a returned unit and was testing to see if the camera was OK, and it took my microphone down and the new one, both say that my microphone is turned off. I checked my computer out and it's microphone works fine, is there a fix for this. I have video in both just no microphone. I have downloaded the software three times and reloaded, still the same problem.HELP

Did you install the software with the camera connected to
the computer? Disconnect the camera from the USB port and reinstall the
software. When the program asks you to connect the camera, do so, and it
should work. Hope this is of some help.
Below is info for setting up Audio & Video to chat on line after you install , either Skype or a messenger program.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype set it up as follows:
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now see and talk to you.
B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger set it up as follows:
C. Windows Live Messenger:
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud
