I can fix your ps3 and i charge way cheaper than those rip off shops. Give me a call or emal at mr.moneymaker001@yahoo.com or 713-505-1133 ask for Randy. I fix more than ps3's so make sure you mention that.

Hi,

Unfortunately this is a very common problem with the PS3 and is one of the first signs that the Bluray laser is failing.

For a full breakdown on the issues involved, please see this FixYa Tip.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I have an 80gb ps3 that is backwards compatible. it plays ps1 and 3 games fine. It will load and run ps2 but it will not allow me to play

you have to push the ps button on the controller again after the system loads the video game, for some reason (i assume compatability issues) the system breaks connection with the controller when it loads the ps2 discs. If this doesnt help get back with me

PS3 stopped loading discs

Cleaning the laser on the PS3 rarely, if ever helps.

It needs a new laser because the old one is "burnt out". It's a really common problem with them.

You could replace the laser or the entire Bluray drive.

I buy my parts at http://parts.consolerepairguy.com - the laser are about $75 each and Bluray drives are about $95.

I run a repair business and that place has best prices aside from Hong Kong which I don't trust.

Game wont load on ps3

i had this same problem and the solution to mine was that my ps3 was in my garage and it was too cold in there for the system to operate so i moved it into the living room where it was warm and it eventually began to work

another solution is to just restore the system and then reinstall all of the updates
