Question about Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor

I have a Gateway FPD1975W TFT LCD Monitor which often works when plugged in to a computer but when plugging it in to my laptop it keeps displaying a green box that says "Frequency out of range" instead of displaying the monitor. This only happens occasionally, usually after a shut down and update and I have to shut down (not restart) before it will work again. I've tried refreshing the "Connect Display" button in the Windows Mobility Center, restarting, and even plugging and unplugging as well as changing the display settings and nearly every combination of these things. I can't figure out what the issue is.

The laptop needs to have the display settings and the adapter or monitor setting changed to a lower freq, like 60 hz

display settings/ advanced/ monitor/ change setting to 60 hz, that should fix ya let me know if it works.

Hello,

A flashing power light indicates a failure of the power supply, this will also cause the white screen. Here is a link to a page showing what parts need to be replaced to repair the power supply board and get your monitor back running again.

When i plug in my Gateway FPD1975W TFT LCD Monitor, the screen stays black and the power button blinks. This goes on for hours without doing anything else. Suggestions?


If you have this connected to a computer and it happens,make sure the fault is not with the graphics card or port first. Test the monitor on another computer or laptop. Test and check the VGA cable.
If this is not the problem (ie the monitor will not work on another computer and another monitor will work on your computer), you are probebly having power capacitor problems and the monitor needs replacing.

I have a gateway FPD1975W tft lcd Monitor. It will not power on at all. I took the power cord from an exact same working monitor and put it in this one and it still will not power on?


Faulty power PCboard. Reasons and the exact problem may vary. Main components to check: The fuses, the stabilizing capacitors on the low voltage, the impulse transistor, the optron and the pulse width modulator (PWM) IC.

Fuzzy screen on Gateway FPD1975W TFT LCD Monitor


With the pixels acting up and the monitor having the same problem on any computer that its connected to. The screen itself is bad and since there are no replacement screens for that monitor, you would have to buy a new monitor or get it replaced if its under warranty.

Gateway Monitor goes blank after a few seconds after startup.


Sounds like the inverter is broken or have a short circuit. This is a common failure on TFT displays.

Restart the PC and get into SAFE MODE. Hit and release F8 many times right after turning on PC. If it works, then go into your video setting and either change the settings or remove the video driver. Restart the PC and you'll get 800X600 screen, then reinstall the video drivers. IF it won't go above 800X600, screen internals are bad, LCD toasted. I've seen that happen with LCDs and older monitors.

Did you try changing your display resolution in your computer display properties ?
Right click anywhere on your screen backdrop, click on properties, go to settings then pick the resolution that fits your screen the best.
