Sure It depends upon which sound system(hardware) you have installed in you system. I wil tell you how the two speaker type works. Plug the speakers into the transformer that you have connected into the house electric. Plug one speaker into the other. plug the left over Jack into the green outlet on the back of the computer either from the mother board or the sound card. If you have not(somecomputers do not come with sound) these round colored jacks in the bvack of yuo computer you wil have to purchase a PCI sound card ,(like soundblaster) that is available at most discount stores like Wall and K mart. If you have a more complicated sound speaker system like 5.1 or 7.1 sound , please write back.

I need to hook speakers up to my Dell B110 computer.

2 things are needed to get sound from your speakers:

1-wiring connecting your speakers to a socket to the back of the computer. (The spot they need to plug in to ON YOUR COMPUTER is a small light green circular socket. The other end of the plug you plug in here should run to one of your speakers *usually the right side speaker-the right speaker should then have separate wiring to connect the left speaker.)

2- A source of power.
Some speakers use their own power source and plug in to a power outlet - your wall. Other types have a USB type plug and plug into a USB port in your computer and that is how THOSE get their power.

Those are the basics of sound setup. Some computers are equipped with more complicated setups such as surround sound, subwoofers, digital and more. Reply if you need more help, I will try to assist you further.

Hope this helps.

There is no sound at all. thought it was speakers but hooked up new speakers still nothing

I suggest you should install the drivers for you sound card, if you dont have any idea about where to find the sound card drivers, you should install Driver Magician and scan your computer for any missing drivers and you could download it for free, you install and the problem's gone. :)

Connecting speakers to Computer

It's usually the green plug that you hook up speakers to. If you look closely at the sound card area of your computer, you will see little pictures telling you which one is for the mike, line in & speaker.

I'm trying to figure out how to hook up a pair JBL Platinum Series speakers to a Compact Presario 5000 Series computer. We just moved and I want to know if the speakers might have gotten damaged during...

Try connecting the speakers to another PC if one is available. This will let you know if the problem is in fact the speakers themselves, or something in the way they were being reattached.

Hopefully this will help you get to the solution, and please post back to let me know what's happening. Thanks for rating FixYa!
