Question about Hitachi UltraVision CineForm 55VG825 55" HDTV

1 Answer

White Screen The screen has gone completely white and no longer shows any picture, even though the sound is fine. I do not believe it is a lamp since there is still light coming from the screen. It's just that there is no picture or color. This is true regardless of whether the signal is coming from cable, dvd, or some other source. It started doing this every once every two weeks about 2 months ago. For a while it would return to normal as long as I shut the TV off for a couple of minutes. Now the screen has gone white and stays that way no matter how long I leave it shut off. I have tried unplugging the TV and letting it sit, but this also doesn't have any effect. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -Jared

Re: White Screen

Replace the jungle ic on the main pc board. There are also numerous problems on this unit with poor solder joints or connections. The jungle IC is the video and sound processing unit of the Tv. I just serviced one of these with a similar problem. This not a problem that most local technicians will find. Be carefull whom you hire to make this evaluation. Check their credentials! Scrivitron

Slow to turn on Phillips flat screen tube big screen

That is a common issue with the last generation of the phillips big screens, the best answer for this is one that i got at a meeting with phillips service several years ago. On philips the tv will not show a picture till the tubes are balanced out, simular to sony, but in a phillips if the white balance is not correct the picture and sound will be muted till all three tubes have warmed up enough to produce a good white balance. As the set ages the tubes become weaker and this procesess takes longer.

Samsung HL-P5063W audio is fine, no picture. Initially made a loud buzzing sound, so we replaced the color wheel. No more buzzing sound, audio is fine, but screen is various shades of white. Left TV on for...

Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screens. Here's a video that will help you find where the DMd chip is located : Have a blessed one!

Spots on screen in front of picture

This could be an issue with your DMD board or your Video Board. Go to the menu, if the white spots show on the menu, the issue is with your DMD board, but if they don't show, the issue is with your Video board.

If there is sound from the TV but no pictures and the indicator on the front of the TV is blinking four times then check if the projection lamp is okay.
Otherwise replace the projection lamp.
