This is copy from HP web site.
The paper might not be loaded correctly. Use the following steps to load paper in the printer:
Lift the output tray and extend the photo tray.
Figure 1: Lifting the output tray1 - Output tray2 - Paper-width guide3 - Paper-length guide
Slide the paper-width and paper-length guides to their outermost positions.
Load up to 20 sheets of paper into the photo tray with the side to be printed facing down. Verify that the stack of paper fits loosely under the tab on the paper-length guide.
If you are using tabbed paper, insert the paper so that the tab is closer to you.

Adjust the paper-width and paper-length guides inward until they stop at the edges of the paper.

When you calibrate the 5100 AIO, first, you push in the photo paper drawer until it CLICKS. Next, print an alignment sheet. It will use the photo paper. Pull the drawer out, put the printed sheet in the scanner bed, with the arrow in the right hand corner, closest to you. Press start and it will scan and print a sheet on full sized paper. If your initial scan doesn't print onto photo paper, you don't have the drawer pushed in the whole way. There is a definite click and the green light will turn on.
Print a self-test report. See the section on how to use these solutions at the beginning of this document.
If the self-test report prints , try printing the original document again. If the issue is resolved, there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
If the self-test report prints, but the original document does not , continue to the next solution in this document.
If the self-test report does not print , try printing the report again. Listen for the rubber paper-pick rollers; you should be able to hear them rotating. Then, try slowly pushing the paper farther in until the roller engages to pick up the paper. Be careful not to push the paper in too far, which can cause paper jams.
If the self-test report does not print when slowly pushing the paper farther in , repeat the previous steps to clean the rollers again. If the issue continues after repeated cleaning, skip the next solution in this document, and then service the product.
If the self-test report prints when slowly pushing the paper farther in , try printing the original document again. The paper might not have been loaded far enough into the product. If the issue is resolved, there is no need to continue troubleshooting.
If the paper only feeds through the product when you slowly push it farther in , repeat the previous steps to clean the rollers again. If the issue continues after repeated cleaning, skip the next solution in this document, and then service the product.
Remove the power cord from the electrical outlet. Open the printer cover and expose the printer rollers.
Remove the paper from the "in" tray and any paper you may have in the "out" tray.
Hold the wet cloth against the first roller with one hand and use the other hand to manually turn the roller.
Replace the paper in the in tray. Plug the printer in and print a test page. The rollers should take the paper from the in tray. If not, repeat the process in Step 3 to make sure you remove all of the dirt.
When printing directly from a memory card, the printouts have an abnormally high red tone.
This does not affect the prints that were originally sent from the computer.
button to turn off the Photo Fix feature before printing from a memory card.
Photo Fix feature was originally designed to reduce/enhance printed
pictures by making colors more vibrant. However, it can also have a
side-effect to make some prints have more red tone than desired. In the
HP Photosmart D7100 series printer, this feature is “ON” by default.
Check your other colours. Anything other than a True Type Font is printed in colour shaded with black, so it sounds like you have a problem with yellow and cyan. Either the ink cartridges are out or the print heads have a blockage.
If the cartridges are not empty or v low, try sitting the print head over a folded paper kitchen towel damped with hot water for 10 minutes. Remove it and try your diagnostic again.
