Snowy with blue and black squares

Tv started doing this every now and then and now stuck permanently. Image is a slowly refreshing, ghosty and very distorted (snowy). Almost looks like a negative film image. TV is a Samsung 4253 Plasma. Any ideas what might be wrong?

How do I fix my Sharp tv from right side to center there's a half inch black line 9 inches down from top on screen and it changes color depending on background and UNDER the line the image is blurry a

If this is done with every input of your tv and also with tv channels this means a bad circuitboard .You can find on ebay one and mod it yourself. Its not such a difficult thing.

Why are the movies half screen?

Movies that are created for "Wide Screen" viewing show up in letterbox on your TV. If you go to a theatre you notice it is a big rectangle. To be able to fit all of the widescreen movie on a TV it has to make the height smaller.

Because many people want to see the "complete" Movie, the "Letterbox Format" came about. I do NOT know what the word "Letterbox" actually means, or how that term was chosen. To get the complete Rectangle into that Square, they discovered that they could shrink the entire rectangle to fit that square. Meaning, what used to take 2 inches on your screen, now may only take 1.75 inches. Now a problem arrose. When you shrink the WIDTH to fit your dinky Square of a TV, the HEIGHT also has to be shrunk along with it, or else you're stretching the image as if it was on silly-putty ("Compression"). When the image was shrunk to fit the TV Screen, they were left with a gap at the top and bottom of the screen. So they simply fill it in with "Black". I guess the only alternative was to leave it snowy.

Can you be more specific on what you are trying to tune into? Satellite TV? What do you have on your TV screen; is it snowy, blue, or black screen? Please be more specific and I can attempt to assist you.

I tried to program my Toshiba TV Model 27A43 to a new Universal Remote, because the original Toshiba remote was functioning more+more slowly ( I changed batteries on the original Toshiba remote first)...

Yes do a complete new channel scan. Play this like you just got the TV. If you want to buy the OEM factory remote you can most likely get it at the link and avoid all this hassle. Follow the link below. 1 800 Remotes

My sony tv stars blinking 5 times in a row, then the picture goes black for a second comes back then goes black again and it keeps doing it non stop

tv has a blanking picture mute circuit. adjust the screen controls which are located behind the speaker grill in front of set. there will be a access panel to unscrew in center and then you will see a black 4 inch square box with 6 physical knobs. 3 control screen the other 3 controls focus for red, green, blue. turn them down and slowly start turning them up. fixed.

Not sure what causes it but it can be fixxed by your local repair guy, I just had mine fixxed for under a hundred bucks, he takes the back off and with a tiny screw driver adjust a few screws to near brand new perfect picture.. and it has been good ever since

Snowy image

Your going to need the manual RF modulator to get the sound out because it works off of a different output than the newer ones do. The 2600 runs a closed circuit TV signal to the modulator. In fact there is a small TV transmitter in the game unit. While most electronics today send a seperate audio and video signal. So a modulator that plugs into the electrical outlet won't do the trick.

I found this page on the internet. Look at the RF Option section and see what you think of those options:

Blue snowy pixel areas on my plasma

some of these panels were mis-calibrated from the factory after not aging long enough. Let the TV run for atleast 2 hours and adjust the Vs and Vscan voltages. When it is blue in the left I have found generally the Vs is about 10 volts too high.
