NO OPC BELT on MFC-9420cn

I have a MFC-9420cn which had a print error.  After fixing it it said to replace the OPC belt.  I reset the opc belt and it then it said NO OPC Belt.  I have swapped it out with the opc belt from my HL-2700cn and the the 2700 works with the old 9420's opc belt but the 9420 again say no opc belt.

The opc sensor is not sensing the belt. Open the front cover and remove all the toner trays. You will see the green OPC and the sensor is located in the left upper corner. Also open the top cover and remove the OPC. Clean the sensor with a soft bristle brush. Also make sure the OPC left side is free of toner deposits. This may incorrectly trigger the OPC position sensor. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: what is opc belt 2700 CN printer

the opc belt is the optical photo conductor belt in your printer. It is the bright green shiney belt you see when you remove a cartridge. You can access it through the top of your unit. You will see a cover where the paper comes out. Inside there are two green clips that push outward. These release the opc belt.
You can purchase a replacement opc belt from most good stationary and consumable suppliers, however, be ready for a shock. the price of the opc belt is almost as much as the unit is worth.

I have a MFC-9420 CN that is giving me an "unable to print message" after I cleared a paper jam. I have turned it off and on several times, as that is the only help the user guide gives. I've read...

To reset on this machine you press the 3 and 9 together and scroll thru the options to reset. Unable to print without an error code doesn't tell me where your error might be.

OPC belt has 78% left -cant rid the problem

Look at the OPC belt edges, there's a shiny spot that passes thru a sensor, a can of air should blow out the sensor, carefully! When the sensor can't see the timing spot you get that error. You may have to replace the OPC since companies are imbedding a chip that tells the machine when they're used up.

Try pressing 1 and 7 at the same time
The LCD will show "OPC belt 1. Reset 2. Exit
Select 1 to reset the life counter.

This is supposed to be done when replacing the drum unit...but I've found that I can get 1.5 to 2 lifespans from a single unit.
