We have a 2 line phone that only can receive 1 calls on 1 line. We have 2 lines 1 jack with a rollover line. When we are on 1 line the other line has no dial tone and the coworker cant make a call and nobody can call in. We checked with the phone co. and both lines work. They said its the phone not the lines. We purchased other phones and they do the same thing. Help please, its pluged in correctly in the back, What are we doing wrong?

Most likely the problem is the cord from the wall to the phone. There are two types of cords and they look almost identical. Look closely at the connector. A single-line cord will have only two gold pin at each end. A two-line cord will have four gold pins at each end.

You need a two-line cord to get both lines from the wall to your phone. Since you have had the problem with several phones, that is the most likely cause.

I have the 4 pin lines and the 4 pin converter.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "4 pin converter". Could that be the problem? If you have a DSL modem (not a cable modem) you need a two line (4 pin) DSL filter. I'm not sure why you would need an adapter. I'll try to help!

Phone lines are not rolling over to the other lines, also when retrieving a call from line 2 ..I can here the person on hold but not able to speak with them.

The rollover trouble is a service provider issue, you need to call your service provider to report it. The second trouble could be related , I would report it to the service provider also. Once the rollover rissue is fixed, test for the second trouble again.

Phone service? You probably have a Strata VI box in the back, but the pilot number and all of the hunting is part of the dial tone provider's equipment. Somewhere on the side of the box, you should be able to unplug all outside lines and plug single line phones or test the lines with no equipment on them. If the first line rolls to line 3 all by itself, then call the dial tone provider and have them test the group. You have to make sure you're not shorting out the lines. In fact, if you can get dial tone on lines 1 2 and 3, then it tends to make it their problem and not your Toshiba system.

Yes, you can use a regular 2 line cordless phone with your 4 line corded systems. The only concern is when you put someone on hold. The on hold function may not release if you have different makes of phone. If you already have Panasonic get a Panasonic 2 line cordless phone with the on hold feature.

Yes, you can just take line 3 and plug it into your new fax. I might suggest looking into a fax to email service instead of buying a new fax. If you receive more than send it's a great way to save on the phone line and paper.

Digital phones are pretty secure, no one will accidentally hear your conversations. It is not encrypted but I think it would be perfectly fine in your office.

Quickly, return this Phone is you still have a chance, my small business used this phone for EXACLY 2 years, and now all lines are DEAD, NOT A SINGLE ONE WORKING. LINE ONE AND THREE HAVE NO DIAL TONE EXCEPT EXTREMELY LOUD STATICS. AND LINE 2 AND 4 ARE TOTALLY MUTED.

A lot of my customers are complaining about not being able to reach me in my office.
