Question about Palm Z22 Handheld

1 Answer

Photos won't download from computer to Z22

They were photos that were already on my computer desktop that were taken with a digital camera. I dragged them into the windows on the Media icon but they didn't show up on the Palm after I re-synched it. Hope this clarifies a little!

I don't have a memory card so I know I only have something like 20MB to work with which I know isn't much. I am just wondering why I have no "Photo" icon on my PC when everything else downloaded perfectly. I just wanted to download two or three pictures just to have for fun.

Hey

sorry for the delayed responce, my time here is currently pretty limited..

Okey, lets see do you have a memory card on the palm? the palm you got there has only 32mb of memory, which will fit about 10 digital camera pictures, the pictures would need to be sized down. so you could fit more.

I'm sure we can solve this issue together so lets see, what program is missing?

we could look at this over remote support so I could also see the screen and understand the things better.

let me know, and again My availability is currently limited...

Thanks,
Ekse

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS AND VIDEOS TO A COMPUTER
If your photos and videos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

How do i rename pictures so that my computer won't think they are duplicates?

Rename the photos on the computer before you download the new photos.
OR
Create a new folder (say Photos1) in another area away from where the existing photos are located in your computer and move all the existing existing into the new Photo1 folder.
Then when you download the new photos from your camera then there will be no conflict or the need to rename the existing photos.
Later, you will need to create another folder and move the current photos into this folder before you download the next lot of photos from your camera.

Taken some photos, so how do i upload the photos to my pc.do i need a card reader ?

You can use your camera and its included cables to download your pics. This would be explained in the owner's manual. But, a card reader is certainly a better choice. It's faster and trouble-free....you don't need any special software...you can drag and drop the files to a folder you create on your desktop. Once you have one, it can be used with any memory card in the future. You won't be sorry you purchased one (and they're cheap too!). typrice_17.jpg

Downloading and catergorising all my pictures

Follow the steps for your computer to create a new folder, in the same folder where your photo's were downloaded. You can create several new folders and typically drag and drop your photo's into the different folders. For example, rename one folder "Holiday" or "Birthday" and drag the appropriate photo's there.
In the future, you can create the folder "Jane's 3rd birthday" before you load the photos, for instance, from a birthday party, and load the photo's directly to the folder. The photo's will already be organized!

I lost the cd to install the software installation in the computer - model Fuji FinePix A345 Digital Camera

With most recent computer systems, you don't really need the software that came from the camera manufacturer.
  • Connect the camera to the computer using the USB cable that was included.
  • Put the camera in the mode for viewing pictures already taken (not sure if necessary).
  • Turn on the camera.
  • At that point, the computer should recognize the device.  It may take a few moments to configure itself properly.
  • Then the computer should make the camera available just as if it were another disk drive (or flash drive).  You should be able to drag or copy photo files from the camera to the computer.  You will first need to navigate through the directory/folder structure of the camera -- the photos are not in the root directory.
Hope this helps.

Memory Card

If you transfer the photos to your computer from the camera, you should be able to save to another memory card. I can't say whether or not the photos on the new memory card will show up on your camera since there may be certain requirements to display on camera screen.
Plug your camera into the computer USB or insert old memory card. A box should pop up giving you the option to view files. Copy and Paste (or Drag) selected photos to a specified folder on your computer (Like My Pictures in My Documents). Insert new memory card. Copy and Paste (or Drag) selected photos to the drive for your memory card.
