Check for the front panel duct located on the lower tank front. this is the part you need to remove to attach the hose. also check to make sure the lid is on and secure on the lower tank. remove the lower tank and look on top of the motor cover toward the left front corner you should see a round black gasket on a pipe. if not there, this will cause poor suction.

My hoover F5515 was working fine but when I pulled out the tsnk to remove dirty water and place it back and turned it on, brushes stop rolling.

Hello Sonny! If the dirty water tank is not put back on securely it will prevent brushes from spinning. Take off the dirty water tank and replace it making sure it locks onto the cleaner and is flush. Now check your brushes for obstructions. Remove all hair and debris from the brushes. If the brushes still will not spin take your cleaner into a Hoover authorized service center for repair. Follow the link to locate the nearest service center in your area. Hope this was helpful!

The brushes don't turn. It runs and dispenses shampoo and water and sucks it up but the brushes stand still.I cleaned them and filter etc still doesn't work.

There is a plastic shaft on the back of the block brush (spin scrubbers), these wear out or break. You may need to replace the block brush. Or if the shaft is not broken it could also be the Turbine Gear. This is what the block brush shaft goes into. You can get access to it by taking off the hood. You can find the parts and a schematic below follow the link. Please don't forget to give positive feedback.

My hoover spin scrub machine has stopped scrubbing. It still dispenses and pulls up the water, but the brushes don't move. I've checked the on off button for brush control and cycled it to off and back on,...

There is a filter on the front right hand side of my F5871-900 Hoover. If you remove the plastic covering and clean that filter (wet finger may do), you're Hoover will begin spinning again!

Have a Hoover SteamVac with 5 brushes and it will not suck up any water and I have cleaned all the brushes but it still wont pick up any water

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Part of the problem is with your holding tank, there is a rubber gasket that seals the unit to pup the water and if that gasket is cracked or missing it will not pup. Also there could be something wrong with the suction motor or the Hoover SteamVac may be clogged and will not pup the water, if there is a way to say back track the suction then follow the suction back to the suction motor and if you see a clog – remove it. Otherwise you may have a bad suction motor and it would need replacing as a last resort. If the Hoover SteamVac is less than one year factory warranty it would be covered under the Hoover factory warranty and then feel free to contact the local Hoover Factory Authorized Dealer in your area, so call the cust serv @ Hoover and they can direct you to a dealer that would cover this under warranty. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Brushes won't spin on hoover steam vac ls

I have the SteamVac Dual and there's a screen on the underside of the unit. It's beneath the brushes and it's red. You have to pull and wiggle it to get it out. With the machine unplugged, lay the unit with the handle on the floor. In the owner's manual ( http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/F7222900.pdf ) this is shown on page 10 figure 3-2. Clean that screen.
If they still won't spin, then take the brushes out. Again, with the unit on the floor, you simply grab the unit firmly and pull towards you. It's much easier to remove than the screen. I took the brush unit outside and blasted it with the house. You'll have to pull out whatever fur balls are clogging it but eventually you'll see that the brushes spin freely with the water squirting on them. Plug the brush unit back in and - in my case - they started spinning.
