Question about Televison & Video
The tv is 2 years old & has worked well. The other day the picture only shows a black screen but I do get audio. Any suggestions on a fix or what may have caused this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you....George

You usually have this type of lines when there in a problem with the frequency or voltage.
Can you be more specific as to whether this problem is there always or when u use something specifically with the tv(like vcr, cable, etc..)

Anytime an LCD has a shade of pink, that means the CCFL lamps are about to go out. Now that you have a black screen, I'd say you just need some new bulbs.

I partly agree with imaliszewski the problem is Y buffers (upper & lower). There is 3 parts to the Y board (Y-main, Y-upper, and Y-lower). There was an issue with defective Y-buffers in a memo sent out by the Plasma manufacture. The problem could be that you just got a set of these defective buffers in your panel. Or as Imaliszewski stated a current problem. but if you replace the Y-buffers repace them as a set. If your TV goes out again after changing the buffers. The panel is causing the problem by drawing too much current. That was a Defect I found out why working in a Philips/Magnavox warranty repair facility.

hyundai hpt2450 tv switches on with standby button on remote or at tv and picture and sound ok but the little "tv" symbol at bottom of screen remains on locked in tv mode.It is not possible to change channels alter volume or change input source! The set does not respond to the remote or on board controls. It cannot be switched back to stanby with either the remote or the sets own standby button. It has to be switched off the the main on/off switch.
