Question about Panasonic SC-HT720 System

Remote will not control home theatre player

My local Panasonic say there is nothing wrong with the remote but it will not operate the machine. I can only use the machine maually. It would be nice to know if this is something simple as it's a real pain taking all the kit back to the Panasonic service centre then setting it all up again later!!!

I haven't tried your suggestion yet but i yesterday bought a new multi programable remote and it picked up the Cable box and the TV without any trouble. I tired about 10 times to program the Home Theatre with no luck so it looks like i'll have to take it back to Panasonic. The problem is that i have to take the woofer box as well since it has the power supply in it and they ask for it. That basically means disconnecting all the cables and wires - as i said a real pain!!!!

it's either your batteries need replacing or the remote does. unless, of course, the receiving sensor on the home theatre isn't working.

I can't turn the blu-ray player on or off with the remote. I can however do it manually. I also cannot open the disc drawer either with the remote or manually.

So would it be safe to say the remote isn't working?

• Is the remote control being operated within its operation range of angle and distance?

• Are the batteries exhausted?

• Have you selected the mode(TV/DVD) functions of the remote control (TV or DVD) correctly?

Is my tv audio doomed or will the home theatre system work anyways.

some devices these days have a built in volume control, try using your remote for which ever dvd player or satalite bix you use, on push the volume up button on it while you have the volume on the tv maxed out so that you will be able to tell a defference if it works or not.

Once you have connected your dvd player to your tv and the tv is turned on. Turn on the machine and press "disc" on the remote control. Open/Eject the disc tray. Press STOP on the remote control. Enter the following numbers slowly on the remote control " 7,3,4,4,6,6,0". Configuration will appear on the bottom left hand side of the TV for three seconds. Press "PLAY" to close the tray. The DVD player eill return to normal operation. This SHOULD make the player Region free.
