Question about Shoprider Sprinter 889B-4 Scooter by
My dads scooter goes well in forward direction but loses power when reversing could you please diagnose possible problem
Sometimes the engager (the gas knob or the go switch) gets a bad spot. When you start backing up start to go slow and then increase the speed. If it stops at the same point each time, then you will need to replace the engager. You may need a tech to replace this if you are not comfortable with doing it yourself.

I think that this is usual to have a slower reverse speed for safety. But on your shoprider you should have 4mph and 8mph ,usually if you are at 8mph it won`t reverse at that speed, you have to go to 4mph ,look infront of you there is a dial this controls the speed that you go forward and reverse. If reverse speed needs to be increased turn the dial up,but don`t forget this also increases forwards.
