Question about Tomtom XL 330 Car GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Turning on I used my TomTom last thursday and it worked fine. I turned it off and took it inside with me for the night. When I tried to use it the next day it wouldn't even turn on. I plugged it in to make sure it was charged, but it still won't turn on. What should I try to fix this problem???

You may need to keep it plugged in and charged for a few hours before you turn it on again. I ran into a similar issue where there was no juice left in the battery, but after doing a full charge, it worked fine.

Tom Tom won't charge

double check the connection. I had this with a one xl and it turned out to be a small bit of debris that had gotten into the car charger and stuck there so that even the home charger would not help.

I used a compressed air can for computers to blow it out..
also get a magnifying glass and check the connector strips inside the connector.

If you see damage it will probably have to got in for repair

GPS Taking to teh Wrong Direction

If maps get outdated enough, any device can go awry. Keeping your maps updated should keep it working fine. TomTom has Tele Atlas map updates at their map store here: http://www.tomtom.com/products/maps/select.php

If your maps are in fact updated and you're still having difficulty, it might be time for an upgrade

Tomtom wont turn on

I had similar problem this morning. Last time I was using my TT was about 3 mths ago and it worked fine. 2day I switched it on, the first screen appeard but the, TT just switched off. I put my friends SC card and it started... . Looks like soft on SD issue.
I have a buckup file but at 87% it fails ... Lifes a ..... :D
My advice is to download and install new soft on your SD card but what about maps U/me bought with the TT?? Have no idea
