You have to access the player menu by pressing M during playback. Once in the menu press + or - until you find settings in french that would be "reglages" or "parametres". Press the play/pause button to enter. While in the settings menu again using + or - scroll through until you find language press the play/pause button and select english.

I'm sure you can find a universal remote that will let you change that setting, but you'll have to look around. The cheap ones do NOT let you change very many setting, especially Language setting. Check electronic stores and associates and I'm sure you'll find one that'll work.
Yes, there is a site http://camera.manualsonline.com that is an excellent source for Samsung user manuals and other information that you can find it in English. I have used them alot to locate Samsung related user manuals in my troubleshooting. Just register in and then search for your model and it will pop up with several options and tips. God bless.

It will ask you what language you prefer for on-line menus. It might read "idioma".
Scroll through the menu options until you find on-screen language,. then select English.
i can but i need a little more information please let me know these things. 1. what kind of TV are you using, 2. does your tv have S-VIDEO connections as well as the DVD, 3. do they both have RED, WHITE<and yellow RCA plug ins. or do they have COAX CABLE HOOK UPS, and is the tv HD and does the DVD Play HD or what for both. what kind of cable or satellite hook up do,you have all of this is important. thank you james klgr
Your problem is not the DVD player, most DVD's come in multi-language format and your disk is set to either French or Spanish. Correct the setup when the DVd begins.
