Cleaning cycle how do i do that? I can't find my manuel..Do I put the bleach in the soap area or in the the beach area...

The odor may come from several sources. Mildew may be around the door's gasket. That might be cleaned with a rag and a half bleach/half water concoction. The soap dispenser tray may have had stagnant water present. Other hose areas may be growing mildew.

Here are some things you can try:

1) Run dishwasher powder detergent once a month through the washer. Or...
2) Run 3 quarters cup of bleach through an empty hot wash cycle once a month.
3) Yes, baking soda, ye olde oder absorber, can also be tried.
3) Clean the trap (where coins, etc. may be captured). Clean the filter.

Some High Efficiency machines have "high efficiency, HE detergents recommended for them. Does the drum have a soapy coating? If so, it will likely require at least an empty hot water cycle to get rid of the excess soap which may be responsible for the smell.

Naturally, if you are using bleach to clean the the washer door, you want to clean the bleach off too before you ruin some clothes by contact.

the soap dish area inside needs a good clean

clean it by using 5 cups bleach fill soap cup put rest in tub wash in hot water long cycle run another or 2 after to make sure bleach is gone

are the filters clean

do you get a lot of suds when you run it without soap and clothes ? if so put about a cup or 2 of vegetable oil into the washer and run a cycle . soap suds will adhere to the oil and it will help it to remove from washer . after you can run a clean cycle with bleach or white distilled vinegar.

I just called LG and they said for this model WM2101HW the bleach will only dispense from the soap dispenser during the tub clean cycle

run a wash load (no clothes) with 2 cups of Clorox brand bleach and use hot water, that should help.

you can put it in the soap part or into the tub/ but i would suggest AFFRESH which is a front load washer cleaner that works so much better than just bleach alone

have you removed the transit bolts and any packing. this is the most probable cause

I had the same problem, except it wasn't just towels. It was everything. I did some research and found that this is a common problem and nothing a tech can fix. I was about to go out this weekend and spend $1000 on a new washer because I couldn't use this washer on my clothes anymore. I did one more search for a solution and THANK GOODNESS found a solution on another site. A woman had the same problem and, after much trouble, someone at Best Buy finally told her to never use liquid detergent in the machine, not even HE. So I cleaned the inside of my machine, around the door, the rubber seal, etc. I ran the tub clean cycle with bleach and vinegar. The smell was gone and I have been using powder Tide ever since, and the smell hasn't come back!!!!!
