SOURCE: my ipod touch 2nd generation

have you tried holding the home button for 10 seconds as well as holding the lock button for 10 seconds? They are both built in anti-stuck/reset fixes.

How do I reset my password on my ipod touch 4th generation?

If you forgot your passcode you can't reset the password. You can reinstall you ipod from itunes and start from scratch. If you happen to have a backup in itunes back from when your password was known or not set you can try to revert your ipod to that backup.

Best practice for passwords: Do use one or someone might set one for you you don't know (usually a bad troll) and don't tell anyone your password for the same reason :)

How to fix a disabled ipod 4th generation touch

Put the ipod into recovery mode and connect to itunes. itunes will offer to reset the device to factory install (current iOS will be downloaded and installed). This will wipe all contents on the ipod, but you can restore all purchases from Apple store.
If you happen to have a backup you can restore from that unless that backup is too new and contains the forgotten password.

recovery mode: If you can't update or restore your iPhone iPad or iPod touch

Hold down the power and home buttons for about ten seconds, the iPod should turn off. Then power it on using both the home and power button and let go of the power button after 5 seconds. the iPod should now be in recovery mode and have the iTunes symbol on it, you can then connect and restore it.

How do you restore a ipod touch 4g

The fourth generation iPod is identified as the iPod with the click wheel and color display, and also known as the iPod Photo. All models of the iPod 4G include the click wheel and full color display, making it easy to view album artwork and photos. Subsequent versions of the iPod also have video capabilities. If you are having trouble with your iPod 4G, there is a series of steps you can follow to try to fix the problem. Start by resetting the iPod (see Below). http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/photo/ If this doesn't do the trick, you may need to restore the iPod, which replaces potentially corrupt software components. Doing so will erase all the iPod's files, so you should make sure you have your files backed up in the iTunes Library.

Download and install the latest version of iTunes. Open the program. Connect your iPod to your computer using a USB cord. Select your iPod from the device list in iTunes once it appears. Click "Restore" on the "Summary" tab of the main screen. iTunes will prompt you to select from one or more restore options. Choose how you want to restore the iPod. The first part of the restore will begin. You'll see a progress bar on the screen. Leave the iPod connected to finish the restore, as iTunes prompts you to do. The iPod will now show an Apple logo and progress bar on its screen. Follow the prompts of the iTunes Setup Assistant when it appears onscreen. Enter a name for the iPod. Choose your syncing preferences. Reload your iPod files from the iTunes Library.

My ipod touch [4th generation] screen is stuck on the usb cord pointing toward the itunes logo

The solution is: 1. Turn of your iPod. 2. While holding down the 'Home' button, connect to iTunes WARNING: Doing this will return your iPod back to original 'out of the box' settings and you will lose everything. On the bright side, you get a 'fresh' start and it will auto update to the most recent software version.

I connect my iPod Touch 4th generation. iTunes gives me an error that it cannot connect to this iPhone because an unknown error has occured ex8000065

Its a weird issue but I would suggest trying to restore your iPod back to factory settings, you should be able to connect again after following these steps:
Step 1: Plug your iPod into your computer and open up iTunes.

Step 2: After a few moments, scroll down the left side of your screen until you see your iPod. Select it.

Step 3: The right side of your screen should now show the general information about your iPod. Scroll down the right side of your screen until you see a button labeled "Restore"

Step 4: Click OK. Give it a few minutes and your iPod will be restored to factory settings WARNING: ALL THE INFORMATION THAT WAS ON YOUR IPOD WILL BE ERASED. Once the iPod is restored, it will be able to sync with whatever is in your iTunes library.

My ipod touch 4th generation says -ipod is disabled connect to itunes- tried that and itunes wouldnt open unless unlocked my ipod and i cant. I tried restoring it and itunes said ipod can not be restored...

"iPod is disabled - Connect to iTunes" . This is because someone(or something?) has tried to crack your password too many times, which causes Iphone/Ipod to automatically disable itself to protect your data.

To restore your iPod, you must connect your iPod to iTunes with your iPod connector table. Make sure it is on and has this message when you connect it to your computer. Once connected, iTunes should detect it as usual.

Once connected, make sure you have all the proper sync settings enabled - for example, applications, music, photos, etc. Change something so that the Sync button in the bottom right appears in the iTunes window. Then sync the data.

When syncing is finished, turn on your iPod / iPhone and you should notice that the message is gone. Type in your password and the disabled message should be gone.

If the message is still there, try holding the sleep and home button at the same time until the iPod turns off, then continue holding the sleep and home button until a screen with the iTunes logo and a picture of the connector cable appears. This will put your iPod in Restore mode. With this option, you must click the Restore button in iTunes, which will delete all your data on the iPod.
