I have a Dell C610 Lattitude laptop with 512MB RAM and a 40GB HD, running Windows XP with all service pack (S)/critical updates installed. Once or twice a week I have a system reboot/crash and get this message in the System Log: Error code 10000050, parameter1 e29f7dd0, parameter2 00000000, parameter3 bfa48fb4, parameter4 00000001. The 'Send Error Report' returns that there is a newer ATI video driver which might fix my issue, but when I follow the provided link and download the ATI driver package, it runs and tells me that the required hardware was not found and does not update my video driver. I have the latest and greatest video driver for XP and this C610 straight from Dell's download site (and have re-installed it numerous times as well), but I continue to get this machine crash. Can anybody out there help? -Ski
I have the same issue, and my team mate has just had XP templated on his PC and has same issue. i.e. The crash, the error, and the updated driver error from the Dell web site.
I had it crash once while resizing a window in a text editor. He is able to repeat the problem over and over by using the scroll bar in MS Access.
We both have Dell Latitudes. We bot have C610's. His is a PIII 600, mine a PIII 1GHz.
EDS is our companies provider. So far no luck in resolving. If you get your answer before me let me know. I'll let you know.
sounds like its time to clean cpu heatsink with a compressed air can. also dells have a feature to test hardware hold fn key hit power to turn on, run diagnostics. i have had to use omegadrivers.net for ati mobile and that fixed the no compatible drivers issue when installing. or guru3d.com also update your bios at dell site. (im an ex dell tech and bios can fix lots of issues)

Steve,
This post recommends reducing Hardware acceleration. This might work.
My team mate reduced and could not get the problem to repeat.
Cheers,
Shawn

I have a Medion Akoya notebook, which i purchased new about 8 months ago. I was using my laptop without mainspower and it eventually shut down. When i plugged in ac power the brightness of the screen remained low. I tried manually adjusting, ie Fn F4 F5 but it shows brightness at full. I tried adjusting power settings from control panel with no joy. Have also tried going into display properties advance settings for video card and tried adjusting gamma, brightness, contrasting. whilst this adjusts colours etc but cannot seem to configure the same settings that where there before. I think the video card is called, Plug and Play monitor on mobile Intel(R)945 express chipset family. Can anybody help??
