Question about Sharp Viewcam VL-AH130U Camcorder
My apologies for my stupidness but have never done this before and have no clue what i need to convert old sharp viewcam video to dvd or put on my comp or if it can be done,I dont even have the lead to plug in to my tv, any ideas where i can get one, thanks in advance, Rachell
One hour + $45---
Although the View Cams are no longer supported by Sharp most I remember have a digital connection through which the video will upload to you computer. Laptop, desktop or tower? IEEE 1394/ iLink 4-pin or 6-pin? Find the appropriate connection for your computer and go. The Sharp's end should be a 4-pin connector. You computer's native one probably is 6-pin. Any consumer electronics store will have the 4-to-6-pin cable. Cable to computer then cable to turned off camcorder. Turn on camcorder. Windows Media or Toast will handle most simple home projects. No IEEE 1394 on your computer? I get a generic PCI-slot add on card (up to $20 at the same stores), install it and (already have a DVD burner?) ..go!
The alternative path costs about $80.
Take the cam with you to the store. Find a generic A/V cable( a 3-ringed 1/8-inch pin plug[to the camera with video=yellow and 2-channel-white=left and red=right]audio dangling from the other end for a converter) and buy a A>D converter(Turtle Beach, Dazzle etc) that connects via USB. These converters usually come with software to make happen what you want. Good Luck
