If you were unaware. Doing this is illegal, although many actually do it.

But here is a link where you can access movie downloads for free.

I dont know how to download a movie so I can burn it

http://download.cnet.com/movie-torrent/3000-2196_4-10786348.html Movie Torrent is a basic peer-to-peer file-sharing client that lets users download a variety of different media types. Although the program works just fine, expect to seek additional instruction if you're not already familiar with torrents.
peer to peer file sharing is a free program which allows you to download someone elses movies that are online the link might drop out but will automatically search for anotherlink once its dropped out even if you shut your computer down after the link has been dropped when you start your computer again and open up the program will search for and connect to the link
once you have selected a movie the movie starts downloading windows will ask whether you want to run or save it a browse option will open you can save it into a folder in my documents then depending on your burning software you might have to burn it as an ISO image if you dont have the software to burn an iso image there are lots of free burning software programs on the internet http://download.cnet.com/burn4free-cd-and-dvd/3000-2646_4-10217894.html Burn4Free CD and DVD is a burning solution that's compatible with more than 3,000 DVD, Blu-ray and CD burners. Burn data and audio from different file types (WAV, WMA, MP3, OGG, FLAC, WavPack, and CDA). Burn and save ISO files, open and save your project to disk, verify content, print compilations, copy DVD, copy BLU RAY and import your audio compilation from M3U and ASX playlists. The drives supported include dual-layer DVD, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM, BD-R, BD-RE (SCSI, IDE, EIDE, and USB 1.0 and 2.0).
hope this helps you

When I try to copy a DVD it says 'preparing....' then says 'FAIL : 01' What can I do to fix this?

first if you are trying to copy a holly wood movie it will fail as hollywood movies are replicated instead of burned. which also mean they have 9 gigs on them where as your blank has only 4.7 gigs available.
If you are simply trying a personal disc to a blank disc and it still doesnt work then you may have a
bad disc, it can mean that the firm ware is not updated to the 8x or 16x disc you may have put in it to copy. and it can also mean a drive has gone bad. I will assume this is out of warranty otherwise you would contact the manufacture. if it is out of warranty then you can try replacing one of the drives and verify that the drive is not the issue.many of these units needed firmware updates and did not get them as they were sold off to go to the faster models.
you did not mention the model but here is a model manual PDF that may help.

I burned a movie from my computer on a dvd+r and when i played it on my dvd player to watch it there was the movie but no sound. What did i do wrong?

First thing to do is test to see if its the download itself :

If the movie was in .iso format mount the .iso to a virtual drive (you can get free mounting software from CNET.com, you can search their site for virtual drive). Run the movie on the computer and see if it has sound.

If the movie was in a folder labeled VIDEO_TS (there will also be a folder called AUDIO_TS, normally this is empty and useless but check to be sure the movie's source didn't do something 'odd' in that regard) then please open that folder and in it there will be some files that are .IFO. Double click one of those and if a window appears asking what program you want to use to open it click browse and locate Windows Media Player and choose that. It will then load the movie and again, see if the sound works.

If the sound works when you view on the computer you will need to try and burn the movie again. Also go back to the site you got the movie and see if anyone is posting comments about having the same problem, could just be a bad image.

It want burn any movies that are downloaded. Liteon model LDW811S

Hi,

if it,s only downloaded movies, that won,t burn/Write.
I,d assume that the downloaded content, is Copyright Protected.
Other suggestions Are:- your CD/DVD Burner does not support the types of files, that are being downloaded. You could try a Video Converter Program. Or alternatively. Change your DVD Burning Software.

WHEN I BURN A MOVIE IT WON'T SHOW UP ON DVD DISC

Sounds like it may have burned the movie file as a data DVD.

In other words, the file gets burned to the DVD just like a Word doc or spreadsheet would, rather than encoded as a movie.

You need to check what format you downloaded it in - it may need conversion before burning as a movie DVD.

You can run a quick web search for *** (your current file format - mpg, divx, etc.) to DVD and find a free utility for conversion.

Then your burning software should be able to burn it as a movie DVD, ready for your player.
