How can I find out the part number for a bearing on my fisher & paykel dryer?

Your model number might be DG62T27GW2.
You can get a user manual from this site.
http://www.ajmadison.com/ajmadison/itemdocs/3969_USA_EN_Smartload_Dryer_UC.pdf

To find the part numbers from Fisher and Paykel parts catalogue you need the serial number or product number of the dryer. This should be on a sticker on the inside of the lid. Once you find it go to this site and download a parts manual.

Fisher paykel repair manual

I think there are some letters missing from the model number you provided, so I am uanble to locate the specific dryer that you have. Generally you would squeeze the two buttons on the sides of the centre shaft of the lint filter and release after it has mounted into the dryer unit. That would clamp it to the centre mount. Hope this helps.

A repair "tech" came to

I would think that it would be the lint filter or filter screen... Either way, unfortunately, most manufacturers regard this as a consumable ( non warrantable) part as its life depends on how often you use the machine and how often you clean the filter.. Im not really conversant with US sold F and P product but perhaps on the internet , there may be further info on the model you have. I beleive that F and P ( Fisher and Paykel) New Zealand, joined Whirlpool in USA ??? Perhaps, the machine you have may actually be a Whirlpool...

The dryer is squeaking/squealing during operation. It is a high-pitched noise that is rather loud. It is also getting very hot. We vacuumed the lint bucket area behind the cover, which fixed the...

I am having a similar issue. I had a tech out to look at it and he recommended replacing the drum bearing and idler jockey pulley. ($419.95) Ouch. I am going to do this on my own. I ordered the part from paykelfisherparts.net. Part # 479332 Drum Bearing Kit $79.91.

Check here for more info. This was exactly what I found on my machine (DGGX1) http://fisherpaykelparts.net/techhelp/fisher-paykel-top-load-dryers-us-models/731-fisher-paykel-dggx1-top-load-dryer.html

I did not totally trust the repair dude. He was wierd and not very thorough. I can tell the bearing is bad, if there are still noises I will order up the jockey pully thing and see if I can figure that out.

Here is a link to the service manual. (https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B5If-wTgYWH5OGNkY2RmZDEtMWU4OS00MjgwLTg3OWEtMmRlZjY0N2I5MzYy&hl=en)

Fisher paykel degx1 lint trap won t release

Probably the holder/bearing for is out of place... it is really hard to get it out if this is the case but you can try putting a putty knife in between the top of the lint trap and the bearing and pressing down on the knife. If you get it out the lint scraper will have to be reset, F/P may be able to walk you through this.

The mount assy on right side across from lint catch completly fell off. I was able to rig it but how do i fix it?

If I am understanding your description correctly, the bearing cover on the opposite side of the drum from the lint bucket and filter has come apart on you. The part is sold as a kit with the cover, bearing, retainer and all the screws included, as well as an instruction sheet. It is a part number 479332 and you can get them here:

Lint assembly-Fisher and Paykel DEGX1

Pretty easy on the lint assy;
Remove the lint cup;
Find screw (5) in a recess at the bottom of the lint cup area;
This will allow removal of the perforated lint surround, and the 'lint scraper'; Also will expose the moisture sensor (3) hanging off wires at the bottom of the assy;
At the bottom of the surround there is another recessed phillips screw; remove this, then twist the surround (14) counter-clockwise about 1/2" and remove to expose the filter (13).

Not sure on the reset- I do know the top swivels up after removing the two screw caps and screws at the front of the unit on either side. This exposes the underside of the control panel; there are screws at the back of the control panel also.
