The manual doesn't show a combination of 3 sticks of memory. Only 1,2, or 4 sticks. Something to do with early CPU revisions.
DIMMA1 or 2 can be used individually or together, but both DIMMB1 and 2 must be filled if more than 2 sticks of mem are installed. The memory doesn't have to be the same in all 4 slots. However, what's not stated in the manual, is that if you want to enable the Dual Channel support the #1 sockets of both channels must be the same and likewise the #2 sockets. (not the sockets right next to each other) I don't know if Dual Channel can be run on one set and not the other. A free program called CPUz from CPUID .com will tell you if dual channel is enabled and everthing else you never knew about your computer. Go for (2) 1gb and (2) 512mb of the fastest you can afford. This puts you at the limit for 32bit systems.

Try re-installing the two new sticks two or three times. Sometimes there is a little build up of oxides on the contacts on the motherboard and keeps the bios from properly recognizing them.

Nvidia gfx card problem

It seems that the problem lays on your Ram,not the graphic card. And since the driver of graphics card is capturing some of your ram memory you are experiencing this error.

MS-6378X-L 512 Ram not working. My motherboard will not recognize the double sided 512's i got. what could be the problem? it takes one sided 256 and double sided 128 not problem.

1. this may be due the manufacturer or your mounting of the RAM itself. It is hard to tell from what you have described.
2. Some RAM sticks may not be built for you PC and take particular brand or configuration which your manufacturer of the PC will point out in the installation manual that came with you PC or Motherboard ( if you built the PC yourself)
3. Sometimes there is a hardware conflict when upgrading new hardware in an older PC.
4. there is also the contacts in a PC that have not been cleaned properly that will result in an failed installation of a device.
5. Some Mother board manufacturers only 2 require sticks of ram as opposed to 1 stick in a particular motherboard for proper operation.
6. check your manufactures site for the proper ram sticks to upgrade your motherboard with.

I have a intel 845gvsr board, want to replace a Ram. What type of RAM is suitable for this board?

Your Intel D845GVSR has,

1. Two ram slots.

2.Maximum Amount of ram is 1GB for EACH ram slot.

3.Maximum TOTAL Amount is 2GB, (1GB in each ram slot)

4.Uses DDR Sdram at 400MHz, (PC3200), OR
DDR Sdram at 533MHz, (PC4200)

This is an example of DDR Sdram at 400MHz, (PC3200),|c:1352|&Sort=0&Recs=10

(Not advertising for this website. There are many places to buy ram memory)
512MB + 512MB = 1024MB, or also stated as 1GB
1024MB = 1GB
