1 Answer

What processor? I have a Dell inspiron 1501 with 1.70 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core TK-53 processor. I want to upgrade my processor but do i have to match spec with the a new processor. e.g. such as pins and power. Do all processors fit all laptops/notebooks. Not all processors fit laptops. You shouldn't get a higher powered processor as you would then need to change the power supply as laptops are set to suit themselves.

Getting an intel may stop problems accoring.

Can i convert my Dell Inspiron 532 from 32 bit to 64 bit processing?

Windows will not install if you have more then 4GB of memory. Reconfigure the ram so it only has 4 GB and it should install.

I am using amd sempron LE-1100 i want to upgrade to a gaming pc so that i can play the sims3. so if i like to upgrade to amd athlon x2 how to know my socket type. please help

Your socket is AM2. You can put any AMD processor that has AM2. If the processor is AM3 just upgrade the bios of your motherboard and it should work. If you need further assistance, just leave a comment. Cheers

Hello again, Upgrading CPU's

Your board supports socket AM2 CPUs the fastest of which is the AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ dual-core processor at 3.1 GHz.

Your motherboard does not accept socket AM3 CPUs.

I have an AMD Athlon FX 2 dual processor and am using Core Temp to monitor the temps of which are posting 44 to 50 while using my computer. Is this normal?

I believe normal temperatures range from 41 to 95. At least from this laptop that is running a dual processor:

From my experience as long as its not running over 100 then you'll be fine. If you have any doubts about your computer overheating you can always apply more compound to the heatsink and also buy a bigger one where the fan runs faster to keep things cooler inside of the case and always remember to have the side doors on as well.

Intel Pentium Dual Core and AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors

I'd advise don't start thinking below E2180. As per the performance go, E2180 and AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ are almost same but E2180 runs cooler. If you are going to use dedicated graphics card, go for E2180 and if you want a CPU for Integrated Graphics go for AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ because most of the 780G/790X chip-based AMD-compatible boards offer superior IGP.
Best wishes...
