Camara won't take pictures, screen shots look black and white blurry

Everytime I take pictures with my dscw70, the pictures will not show. A blurry screen shot with black and white lines will come out (the images are black and white usually lines or circles, very blurry). I cant take any pictures. However, in video mode the camera records very well. I do not know what the problem is, let me know if this can be solve manually.

How to transfer internal memory pictures on a DSCW70

Unlike most brands/ models of cameras, the Sony CyberShot (DSC) cameras feature internal memories, (not enough to hold sufficient data). If you took a few shots before inserting the memory card, the pictures are stored in the internal memory. You can transfer/ delete those pictures by the following steps.
1. switch off the camera,
2 open the battery/ SD card slot cover and remove the SD card.
3. close the cover and switch on
4. press the display/ preview button and your picture should be visible on the screen.

You can now do whatever you want with your picture.

Does this help? Please provide some feed-back if my answers do help.

Is it the viewfinder (that you hold up to your eye) or the screen that's blurry?
If the viewfinder is blurry, there should be a diopter adjustment to fix it, probably right above the rubber eye cup.
If the screen is blurry, you should take some pictures and video and view them on a computer. I they are sharp on the computer but blurry on the camera screen, there may be a problem with the screen and you may need to take it in for repair.
If the pictures are blurry on the computer as well, the camera may not be focusing properly. If you can't focus manually, or the camera can't focus when auto focus is turned on, you have good light, and aren't too close to your subject, then it may need to be serviced.

How do I change the settings to take pictures in Black & White? Thank you

From the shooting menu, select "Color." You can select "B&W" for black-and-white, or "Sepia" for the old-fashioned brownish look. For full details look in the manual under "Shooting menu." It's on page 32 of the online version of the manual available on the manufacturer's web site at

Pictures too white and blurry

If the photo shoot out show white , the obscure (quality variation), and even horizontal line ( white lines), and so on over-exposure cases, even if the use of anti-tremor, set to default values are invalid, because the camera shutter fault.

It's need repair camera machine shutter.
