Have been using Converter Box for approx 2 mo. Had TV on tried to change chanels, picture cut out and went blank, no audio either. Green light is on for the box but only receive a blank screen now when I turn on TV
Can't really say my problem is solved Called the 1-800# and spent more than 1 hr. talking with various people and the consensus is that the Box is defective. Common sense and no real knowledge of electronics told me that before I ever called.
Solution - UPS will pick up the packaged Box between 8AM and 7PM today - very specific time!!!!
I will have a new one in 6-8 wks and by that time I will have NO TV reception. Asked if they could possibly put a RUSH on the order but that's like asking if I could get an invitation to the Inauguration!
Lots of frustration for purchasing an inferior product.

I assume that you are attempting to use the Magnavox converter box to convert digital TV signals received by your antenna system into analog signals for use on an older analog (non-digital) TV set. If that is the case then your first step at troubleshooting the problem should be to view the Magnavox installation instructions to ensure that the converter, antenna, and TV are all properly connected. http://transition.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/setup-converterbox.pdf
Looks like you got a bad converter. I have the same kind and it is a pain that you can't use the remote to also control the TV. It will turn itself off after 2 hours by itself if you do not change the options, but the symptoms you describe are beyond consumer repair.
Do you still have the manual? There is a toll free number to contact them and ask for a replacement. If you do not have it I can provide it tomorrow. (I am not at home right now.) Of course you can only get one of the same converters.
If you are receiving digital signal and channel is fuzzy, something wrong. Only Analog signal is fuzzy. With Digital it is great picture or nothing. For channel 6, check to see if they are broadcasting in digital yet. If they are not, this is why you are not getting a signal. If they are broadcasting in digital, then you need a stronger antenna.
you need to hook up the ps2 directly to the tv not the converter box the converter box is only for digital Chanel's that will go off air on june 12 but if you have cable or satellite then you don't need a converter box this is only for free Chanel's with they don't requires subscription to cable or satellite your playstation should work with out the box try to hook it up directly to the tv not the box
You must have a converter box for the tv and for the vcr. Set the vcr to receive chanel 3 and set the converter box to the digital chanel you want to record. Put a splitter on the antenae out and route one to the tv converter box and one to the vcr converter box. GOOD TO GO.
There is a setting I think might be causing this. My mom had this
and we went into the menu and details there is a spot in there that
says 2 hour, 4 hour shut down and we turned it to off. Just a thought. Hope it works.
