Samsung 206bw Monitor Flashes/Flickers on and off

When we turn the monitor on, it just flickers on and off every second. You can not read the monitor at all. I hooked up the monitor to my laptop and had the same issue.

The monitor was fine until last night when I turned it off... This morning, after boot up, this problem occurred.

any ideas?

I think I have the same problem.
i changed the outputs on my nvidia 8600GTS (I have 2 DVI outputs). Still the same error.
I switch my computer on, and the screen is off. then it goes on for a second and off for 5 seconds. I have no clue what to do.
If someone has an answer to this, please email me.

SYNCMASTER 206BW PROBLEMS I started having the same problem about 2 weeks ago. The screen flickers on and off for about 15 minutes. Although I can see windows is running in the background, the screen...

Common problem with just about 905 of failed LCD monitors; bad caps.
If you are going to DIY and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

White screen on a Samsung 206BW after it fell onto the floor

Something is wrong inside the monitor. I would call samsung support and get an answer from them. You could probably trade your monitor in aswell if its still under warranty.

Yes probably your monitor should be check by a technician. Try to see the warranty for you monitor if its still catch the warranty service for it, they may replace it. Bring it back to where you bought it.

Samsung 226bw visible flickers just after it is turned on

You may have a faulty inverter or loose power inverter connection. OR
You may have a defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.
