Whirlpool Duet GGW9200LL1 will not start

The control panel is working and beeps twice when the start button is pushed, but the dryer does not start. The problem occurred right after the dryer door was opened and there was an electric flash...

Let me know if you have an idea of what might be causing the problem.

My Whirlpool duet will not start. The start button just beeps. Used the diagnostic test of pushing any button for 3 seconds and release for 3 seconds 3 times. This showed F-01.We replaced the control panel with no change in the dryer.
We tried the suggestion to emo's problem and the dryer door does not beep when we open the door and 09 is on the display. Help?

The electric flash does not sound cool, It sounds like you have a door switch problem. Check to see if the door switch button is in tact. If it is , you may have to go after the door switch itself. Try this, press more time, less time, more time, less time buttons in that order, the whole panel should light up, open the dryer door, you should hear 1 beep and OE displayed, If you have this the door switch is ok, Catriver

I would first unplug the unit and remove the top cover. There are 3 screws towards the back of it. Push the cover back towards the wall and pull off. To the left you will see a control panel (usually black metal case), remove the 3 screws and flip over so you can see the control. Make sure there are no loose connections. I have ran into quite a few that had relay connection wires loose. If everything is ok. The next thing you would want to do is remove the front lower access panel (kick plat panel) and blower chamber. There is a thermal fuse and a thermistor located behind it. If you have a meter then take the proper continuity tests that are displayed on schematic. Both the thermal fuse and thermistor are fairly cheap. My whirlpool dryer just beeps when you try to start it. The panel is lit up the door is shut, push start and it just beeps...any idea what the problem is

To unlock the Control Locked feature:
Press and hold the End Of Cycle Signal button for 3 seconds to turn this feature off.

NOTE: When the dryer is running and Control Locked light is on, the dryer can be stopped by pressing the Pause/Cancel button, but cannot be restarted until the control is unlocked.

If holding doesn't unlock the feature, it is likely a faulty interface. I am having the same problem with my Whirlpool dryer and it is the interface, but it seems that a lot of people are able to correct the issue just by pressing the End of Cycle button for 3 minutes.

Try unplugging it and see if it will reset the control panel.I would have to say if that don't work it's a problem electrical and unfortunately you will have to call a repair man.
Most of these machines are under waranty for two years.

Whirlpool Duet Steam Dryer Beeps 3 Times But Does Not Start

Brand new unit - same problem. After an hour of investigating, I found the issue.
You don't actually have to SLAM the door. If you look closely, there are 3 separate pins that must latch. One is a simple push-button style which latches no problem.
The others are little prongs at the top and bottom of door. The bottom prong latches cleanly, but the top one will not latch because the door is a bit too flexible.
Close the door normally, then firmly press on the top edge of the door. You will hear the final latch grab, then you press and hold the start button. The dryer starts normally.
Yay!

Dryer just says beep beep beep everytime I push start

sounds like you may have a bad door switch(mach thinks door is open when it is not).open door and look on front panel that door pushes into.you should find a small button covered in a grey rubber boot.push on it and listen for a click,if u dont hear a click the switch is bad.if u do hear a click it could still be bad or you can have a open thermal fuse
