Question about Dell Dimension 4300S (Refurbished) (4300SB8BZ411) PC Desktop
I purchased a emachines w3653 and decided to upgrade the video card so i got a evga geforce 7200 gs 128 mb supp 512 mb pcie card after i put the card in and turned my computer however i got a single beep on 5 second intervals no start up no bois no nothing i then removed the card and my computer started up normally why did this happen and how can i fix it thank u in advance for any help u can give me
It may be necessary to enter the BIOS setup to disable the integrated video and/or turn on the PCI slot(s).
It varies but entering the BIOS setup uses one or more keys (sometimes Esc, sometimes F1) that are pressed right after power on. Check your user guide to see which key give you access.
Most systems aren't smart enough to do that on their own and you may have the system looking at two video processors at the same time and is unable to resolve the conflict.
