Go to lexmark.com and they will have the latest drivers for your printer. After you download it put it into your cd-rom drive and it will start the installation wizard automatically. Just answer the screen prompts and it will lead you all the way through. Lexmark.com is a reputable official website do not trust just any website that provides free downloads.

If you do not have the disk you must download the software from Internet, follow instructions below,

Click here:Official Lexmark Drivers and Software

A web page will open, follow instructions, select model, select operative system etc., and click on download .
Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file, double click on the file ,then ifyou get in troubles, followthe instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

  • Unplug printer USB.
  • Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
  • Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  • Follow driver installation wizard.
  • Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.
Note:someprinterdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver downloadfor Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vistacompatible.

Printer wont communicate with computer, have lost cd installer?

Hi,

If you have lost/misplaced the installation disk, you can download and install the drivers and software from the Lexmark X2250 support website by clicking this link

On the page which opens, click the "Complete drivers and software for setting up, configuring, and using your device with Windows 32-bit" link to open the download window. Then click the 'Download' button to start the download process.

If your computer has a different operating system, click the "[Change OS]" link and select the correct operating system. [Microsoft Windows Vista/others....]

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

Downloading Lexmark X2550 for Driver for Vista

Go to Lexmark website to download the print driver. You may be able to find the the complete install file there also. If the printer is extremely old there is a very good chance it may not work with Vista. Hope this helps and good luck!
