Question about Marantz SR-7200 Receiver

Open Question

Tone and bass adjustment

Hi there, I recently purchased a URC-7556 One For All universal remote for use with my Marantz SR7200 surround receiver (we were burgled and the thugs stole the remote, but left the amp behind-go figure). The remote works well with all systems and all the peripherals, but I cant access bass and treble adjustments. I believe I should also be able to adjust the internal equaliser settings through the main menu. The original remote had a screen and jog dial command selector. The One For all remote function code for the amp is 1289 and shows menu selections on the T.V screen.selections on original remote with AMP function selected on jog dial command were:
7 TRB+ to increase treble
8 RTB- to decrease treble
9 BAS+ to increase bass
0 BAS- to decrease bass.
I never tried adjusting equaliser, but if possible I would like to give it a bash
Thanks in advance for your attention to my issues.

Well, the nice thing about the newer amps is that the actual amp circuitry is all contained in a module and you don't have to do much troubleshooting. Just replace the module for that pair of channels. Bad news of course is the modules can be pricey. Should say right on it the part number, order it from mcminone.com or whoever, solder it in, use new conductive grease (many times I think these modules fail because the grease gets old, the module overheats and toasts) and you should be fixya'd

You don't get the OSD on the screen because either the HDMI cable for the TV isn't plugged in the OUT plug (the one on the right) or the tv isn't set on the correct AV source (it should be n HDMI1 - if you have plugged the cable correctly on the tv).

SOURCE: I want to adjust treble

To change the TREBLE or BASS using the remote control unit, try the following:

To adjust the tone, press the AMP button and press the > button until PAGE3 is displayed.
To adjust the bass effect,
press BASS+ (D2) or BASS- (D3).

To adjust the treble effect,
TREB+ (D4) or TREB- (D5).

The tone control function can work in the AUTO

DTS-ES, and Multi Ch. Stereo mode.

Thank you and good luck.

I have Kenwood 106vr receiver, still working but lost remote control. Is there other way to adjust the BASS & TREBLE directly in the unit?

Hello
Not possible to adjust the tone without the remote.
if you have the possibility for a universal remote like "Logitech" remotes its Recommended for such cases, that will be easier for you to control the the AVR system.

I have set up a BOSE Accustimass System with my STR de485 receiver. How do I adjust the treble/bass?

hi,
if u are using bose speaker system then remember one thing. go to speaker setup and select all the speakers as large not small. then only u will get a good tone. bose speakers will handle the output power of ur amplifier.
u can only adjust the bass and treble of ur frond Channel speakers. for that
select multi channel surround sound and the increase and decrease the bass and treble
ok

UK, I have a sr7200 but no remote! Are there any compatable ones out there? I have been quoted £250.00 for a replacement

I bought a RC3200 programmable remote after my dog chewed the origional unit. £30 off ebay, works a great. It comes preprogrammed for all Marantz units. Only problem is that it is a bit hard on batteries.

How do I use the remote to cont bass & treble for rxv-657 reeiver

No, Tone controls are on the front of the unit only. If your passing video thru the unit you can go into the setup menu from the harmony and adjust all the sound parameters that way "on screen" The only "EQ" capabilities are for the Center channel only. You can adjust "speaker size". "Large" setting will give you a little lower response. "Small" will crossover the speaker at "100hz" That's about as far as tone adjustment goes on this unit. Hope this helps

Reciver need to adjust bass or trebel

Hi Brent

hhmmmm, I searched through the manual to find this info for you. It appears that the tone adjustments are initiated by the "tone" button on the REMOTE. I could not find any reference to there being a button to do same on the front of the unit. Odd, but there you go.
  1. Use the tone key(on remote) to get "tone" up on the front of the unit.
  2. Then using the multi up-down keys, turn the "tone on".
  3. Once you have got to here, use the tone key to select "bass" or " treble"
  4. Using the multi up down keys, adjust the tone controls to your liking with the multi up down keys
you can download the manual from

http://www.retrevo.com/s/Kenwood-VR-60RS-Receivers-review-manual/id/480bh239/t/1-2/

Just enter your email address and away you go. Good Luck. A "FixYa" rating would be great for my time to research this for you.

regards
Graeme

Sr7200 LFE (sub woofer) output stopped working

Chances are if The Receiver only has sound in Stereo Direct Mode and all surround modes and Sub out are Inop the DSP (Digital Signal Processing) Card is most likey defective. These boards are not available from marantz (D&M Holdings) and must be Component level repaired which usually is not cheap. If Only the Sub out is not working check setup to be sure sub woofer is set for on. Also If On Screen setup menu does not appear on video monitor Unit may need to be Reset manually which entails discharging a Capaitor on main P.C.B Contact kstahl65@att.net for details
