Question about Nikon Coolpix L11 Digital Camera

Coolpix L11 won't take picture unless press shttr at pwr on

I've got a really strange problem with my L11. I cannot take a picture unless I hold down the "take picture" button while the power is turned on. It will then do the autofocus and take a nice picture. However I have to repeat the process if I want another picture.

The other way I can get it to take a picture is if I hold the "take picture" button while switching from review pictures mode back to picture mode.

I wanted to reload the firmware but cannot find any procedure or even the firmware for doing so.

Based on another tip on this forum I tried powering on and off while holding the OK button but no luck.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Did you happen to try a factory reset of the cam... i would say, backup the current data on the cam and try a factory reset. This looks more like a corrupt setting causing the issue. Also, would suggest you take this to your neighbouring camera store and see if they can flash the firmware with the latest one if there is one available.

Drivers for nikon coolpix camera L11

You don't need a driver.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa.

How can i use the coolpix L11 as a web cam?

You can't. The L11 is designed as a camera, storing pictures and videos onto a memory card (or internal memory). It is not designed to feed live pictures and videos to a computer.

Help flash Nixon coolpix L11

hello,

make sure when you press the round selection button on the back of the camera flash option, you press the ok in the center of the button on the back.

it will show brief yellow AUTO in the LCD screen upper right corner for a sec.

when you are going to take a picture holding the shutter button half way down, you should see up at the right corner outside of the LCD screen a red led flashing to indicate flash is ready.

one thing to try if this is not working, find the camera reset option in the menu. after doing this you may have to reset the date & time. it will bring the camera back to default settings

on the bad side if these dont work, possible flash circuit may have failed inside the camera.

good luck!
