Re: whirlpool washer AWM 5145/5 water wont drain/stops on...
I had same problem twice, the first time there was a sock in the filter at the front adjoining the pump, the second time a sock had got in the pipe under the drum which is more awkward to get to but is possible if you have the tools to remove the back plate and are ok at diy, there is a spring tension clip on the pipe which comes off quite easily with a pair of pliers.

Probably a blocked filter, outlet pipe or pump. Take the drain hose and lay it flat and lower then the level of the drum and this will drain the machine providing the blockage is not solid. When machine is empty check filter , pipes and pump and remove any blockage found. Replace drain hose and you should then be able to carry on with your wash or spin the clothes.
hi adriana it is possible there is still water in the drum if that is the case the door wont open untill you empty it,this can be done by draining the water through the filter drain located at the front of the machine ,i hope this helps .
its your drain pipe thats blocked up,, i take it its the one that the washer is pushed into and go's out the wall to the drain that the water is coming back up from,,,in all sope powders there mostly made from a "clay base" so the out let pipe is blocked with "clay wast" push a cleaning rod down the outlet on the wall,,,down to the drain to clear it out its not likley to be the washer thats blocked up,
hi, to empty water manualy, lift the hose from the stand pipe, keep it above the water level, place a bowl on the floor and lower the hose into it, the water should drain out, to stop the water flow lift the hose above the drum and empty bowl, continue until empty, hope this help, thanks for using fixya
check the drain pipe is not blocked, to empty the machine manualy get a bowl on the floor and lower the drain pipe into it and fill to stop water flow lift pipe up in air and lower to start draining again when empty if pipe not blocked i would suggest a new pump located under the drum and easy to fit
