I've not sen this model? Do you mean 2232C??
If so, It sounds like a hard drive to me. and also, If so, I believe you can unplug it and the machine should boot up (if that is, in fact, the problem), there will be limited functionality, however, such as scanning, but this should isolate the problem

The problem is on your hard disk, it is malfunctioning or totally not working, you should replace the harddisk.

My USB keyboard and mouse work during BIOS setup but stop working at Windows log on. What can be done?

pick up and insert a usb keyboard with a touchpad, you can get them all day at Wal-Mart, and run your windows again. Sometime you also may have to wait up to 5 minutes to detect devices. also try using your Tab key to move around. All of this has worked for me in the past. Good Luck. Also try Safe Mode. Also try USB mouse. Good Luck.

I have a Samsung NP-RF511 S04AU That won't start past the startup screen. I don't want to lose what is on my C drive can someone please help. I am running Window 7

Several things you can try.
Roll back system with System Restore. Under Safe Mode (press F8 during boot and choose Safe Mode). Win 7 - Start > Search type System Restore. Now choose a date prior to problem. You may have to try a few dates. Uninstall last program(s) that was installed, again in safe mode.

In Safe Mode try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

T61 won't go past the Microsoft loading screen

Press F8 during boot, and load Safe Mode. A program may be preventing a proper startup.

Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig > Startup tab and uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running.

My computer does not want to go past the start up screen what do i need to fix it

Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS you can load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults ,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
or
During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer
hope this helps

Help i have a dell inspiron 530s and all of a sudden my keyboard and mouse do not work on when the logo of windows comes on in start up nor the mouse or keyboard work but my keyboard works on f2 and f8...

Try restoring your system bios to factory default and this may fix your problem. If not- post again with results and we'll go from there.

Entering System Setup

Turn on your computer.

When the blue DELL logo is displayed watch for the F2 prompt to appear (black screen / white text).

Once this F2 prompt appears, immdiately press F2 .

The F2 prompt indicates that the keyboard has initialized and is detected. This prompt can appear very quickly. Watch for it to display as the screen powers up, and then press F2. If you press F2 before you are prompted, this keystroke will be lost. There is a small window of time to do this before Windows starts.
If you wait too long and the operating system logo appears, continue to wait until you see the Microsoft Windows desktop. Then, shut down your computer and try again to enter setup. At setup check your bios version. It may need to be flashed (upgraded). Select load factory defaults to see if that will resolve your PCI issues.

PC BOOTS HALF WAY

Try booting into safe mode. If it's a driver problem, safe mode will allow you to start Windows with only the bare minimum of hardware and drivers being engaged. To get to safe mode, press the F8 button on your keyboard during the Windows boot process until it takes you to a screen to let you select Normal, Safe Mode, Safe Mode with networking, etc. I would suggest not using anything other than just Safe Mode. From there, uninstall any software or new drivers that you recently installed. Alternatively, you can use the System Restore feature to rollback to a previous restore point.

My eMachines w3503 won't work anymore.

Does it say to go to 'setup' during first part of new start? If so, go there when it gives you that option and, if the first page looks ok except for the current time setting, select 'save and exit', then select 'y' and 'enter' (all entries from the keyboard as the machine is in DOS mode and the mouse does not work at this point). Retry a new start. Make sure that the operating system brings up the desktop (windows). Set the clock then shut down. wait a few minutes, restart again. If the time is off or completely wrong, You probably have a dead CMOS coin cell battery on the motherboard. After replacing it, you will have to do the 'setup' screen again.

Dell Latitude D600 won't go past the Dell startup screen

Tap the f7 or f8 key, when you turn it on, it should go into safe mode, Go into start programs, accesories, tools, and restore, select restore, select a date closest to today and let it go through the restore pocess, if it suceeds and starts up, rub a good virus program right away, it sounds like you picked up a virus or trojen, just be patient and it shoul be ok, if it won't go into safe mode, let me know, that will require more work. And before you do anything, unplug, remove the battery for a few minutes and replace, try it and if it still won't run, do the above, thanks ,GYM

Keyboard shuts off after booting up

try starting up in Safe Mode by tapping the F6 key during boot-up. this prevents drivers from loading. you may have a corrupted keyboard driver. if your keyboard works in safe mode, try uninstall of the kbd driver, then reinstall.. check for a newer driver version.
