DVD will not let me select language

Hi
I just bought a new DVD. I have been watching my dvds on my sons playstation 2 for the last 5 years. But this dvd has a parental control, which let me set a password. But then the film starts right away without a chance to set the language. It will only play in Italian. The Playstation system configuration is set to English.

You have to press triangle on the remote control and the menu will come up.

Hmm... I think there are many possible answers to this.
- Try to select DVD manually.
- Try to add a DVD while your USB stick is attached.
- Try to pull the wall power cable. Wait for 20 minutes, then plug it in and start the DVD player.
Very strange... Do you have a guarantee?

Playstation 2 region unlock
Hello there.

To region unlock your Playstation 2 console you need an unlock DVD. Something like http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation2/4-/94716/-/Product.html

Please select Source Button from your LCD remote to change source and select any other source or select DVD mode.

Changing region code
you can change the region code with updates but its risky cos once you upload the update for the region code it may not let you play the other region coded games

Replace the DVD drive .
You can buy them online .

How to unlock code for LG dvd player model DVX183?
Hi, have you tried this? It worked on my LG player.  
1. Open DVD tray 
2. Press "0000" on the remote. 
3. A screen will appear saying NEW REGION CODE displaying the current one. 
4. Press "0" for all zones. 
5. Press the "select" button on the remote. 
6. Close the CD tray. 
7. Power off
