Question about Dell Inspiron 9100 Notebook

1 Answer

No wireless network

I have a Dell Inspiron 9100 and I get a "no wireless networks available" message when I try to use the wireless connection. I turn the switch on by using the Fn F2 keys. Device manager says there is no conflicts and the device is working properly. What else can I try to get it to connect.
Thanks
Jared

I also have the Inspirion 9100. It is very finicky, try going thru the Setup wizard again and reset-up your wireless connection. If that doesn't do it...you might get a can of compressed air and use in the wireless card slot (if your using a wireless card), the bottom and on the keyboard. Surprisingly enough, I did the keyboard and the underside of the unit and it solved several minor lingering hardware problems.

Cannot turn on wireless capability on dell inspiron 1520. just changed from verizon to comcast

Try this,
In the bottom right corner of your desktop, is there a little picture of a computer screen with a couple of "sound waves" coming off it? If so, right click on it and a menu box will open with the choices;
Disable
Status
Repair
View available wireless networks
Change windows firewall settings
Open network Connections

choose view available wireless networksThen look for the comcast network and connect to that.
If Comcast isn't available on the list, you may have to choose and look in your LAN or high speed internet category to see if its listed there. If it is, right clik on it and choose

Hi,

Can you provide more information about this issue.

1. Is the wireless card enabled on your laptop ?
2. Does it try to search for available network ?
3. Do you get any error message ?

Dell Inspiron 8600 Wireless connection driver Problem

I would check network connections in your control panel first and make sure your wireless connection is enabled. Next I would go to System in control panel and then go to device manager and check to see if the drive for the wireless is installed. May want to try here for the Driver download.

Dell inspiron gets no wireless connection

Either the card is turned off, usually there is a switch on the outside to turn it on, or it is turned off under network, check both places, if this is working and your router is not working you will get a message that no network has been found, can't find a signal.

Dell Truemobile 1300 will not connect

You have to reconnect to the wireless network you have been using. In the lower right corner of the desktop there should be an icon that looks like a computer screen with 3 or 4 wavy lines above it. Right click on this, select "view available wireless networks", highlight the one you want to connect to, and click connect. You might have to have a security code to get into it.

There is no switch on an Inspiron 2200. I would go to Dell's website and download the drivers for your model # and then uninstall the existing adapter. then try installing the new driver and let me know what happens.

Wireless Connection connecting but not able to browse the internet?

I would try reinstalling the wireless driver. To do this, goto start > control panel > system > hardware > device manager and find the driver listed under network controllers. Delete it and restart your computer, and the driver will reinstall itself (it will find new hardware). That may take care of your problem.
