You need to purchase a license key from Microsoft to activate your trial version. If the trial expires, your data will not be lost. You'll just need to move your files to another computer with a licensed copy of Office to view and edit them.

Go to start go on microsoft office then go to micosoft excel and it should come up.

This is another file which comes with the setup files of your copy, in your case perhaps this file is corrupted or couldn't read. You better go for other alternative. Or if you still have the cd, copy all the files from the Cd to your computer and try running the setup again. Good luck.

Expired, you mean your computer came with Office 2007 installed?
Please follow these steps and let us know:

1- check your invoice for this computer, does it state Office 2007 60/90 trial -or- does it state Office 2007 installed at all
2- check your packaging, if an Office 2007 CD is included in your package, read where the license is listed and check if it says 30 or 60 or 90 day trial on it anywhere.

The above steps will confirm that your copy is not the full version that was installed and it only came pre-installed as a trial (try, then buy period).

If you indeed purchased the full version and paid the couple hundred dollars for it, contact where you purchased your computer from immediately and get them to send you the actual CD that should've come in your package for your licensed copy of Office 2007.

And please, if they suggest that they can just give you the license over the phone, don't go for it. Have them send you the CD with the license typed on it. Should your computer die -or- you should need to reload your computer in the future, you will have no CD to reload from.
