Photos won't download on my Palm z22

Good Morning!
I recently purchased a Palm Z22 and everything is terrific except that the Photos icon didn't download so I am unable to download pictures to it. The tutorial is very specifc as to what to do, but the icon is not on my screen.

I hope this makes sense. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Welcom to FixYa!

Does your hotsync proceed normally otherwise? Do you have Palm Desktop Photos syncing to your device? Here are the Palm Photo instructions.

When you installed the Splash Photo Desktop the conduit should've been set up. Right-click the Hotsync Icon in your tray, choose Custom and see if there is a conduit for Splash Photo, set to Synchronize the Files.

Hi you are going to need the Arcsoft PhotoImpression software. However, the software is going to cost you $40. if you lost the CD that came with the camera.
you should be view the photo with any of teh photo software you have on the machine.

If you have a 32-bit Vista operating system, you should download Palm Desktop 6.2.2 from the Support and Downloads link at the top of this page.  Then you will have an installer.

Otherwise, TCPMP is still available in all its (free) glory from here.  Download the Palm OS .zip file, to your desktop and unzip the contents to a folder.  Copy the tcpmp.prc file along with the plug-ins except for the device-specific ones like Zodiak and Sony plug-ins, to the /Palm/Launcher folder on your card SD card using a card reader.  From there, you can *copy* them to the handheld's memory by using the Copy command in the Palm's menu from the app launcher (home) screen.

Let us know if that works for you.  TCPMP is a real gem.  I don't think TCPMP can handle native .wmv files but don't quote me on that.  Also, not all .avi or .mpg files are created equal, so you might also explore how your files are being converted.  There is also a very lengthy thread stickied near the top of this board which has lots of stuff about getting video content onto your Palm.

a coment found in outside "I know that the suggestion was made earlier that those camera owners who have units that use SD cards can use an "SD card reader". Some posters here reported that worked for them, while others reported that it didn't.

I just picked up an SD card reader, a "USB ALL-IN-ONE FLASH CARD READER" http://factorydirect.ca/catalog/prod...p...

I tried it out on Hardy and it works fine, as does my Panasonic DMC-FZ2 camera. My camera does not work on the Intrepid Live CD, but I tried the reader out on Intrepid Live CD (which is "original", no updates applied) and it works fine there as well. In both cases I was able to download photos from the SD card using the reader.

This reader works with four different SD card formats. The packaging specifically indicates that it is Linux-compatible, as well and Mac and Windows. The unit is Chinese in origin and, humourously, the brand name on the packaging is "Enjoy Technology, Enjoy Life".

For those people who tried an SD reader and found it didn't work, the problem may have well been the reader itself."

because you follow the right step,, the picture is in your unit totally, but you cannot view it, because the reason is file not supported,, the only way to support that files are you need to convert it to JPEG or jpg file,, but a software of universal converter on video and photo's,, this time anytime you want to download anything it will be flash totally

Hi

Where are you trying to download photos from? If you could clarify a little, the device doesn't have room for many camera photos.

Lost my Cd to my palm z22. Does any one know were I can download the porgram for my palm. So I can put info on my computer. :)

behoney56:

The information support page for the Palm Z22 has moved around over the past few years. It is now at

http://kb.hpwebos.com/wps/portal/kb/na/zire/z22/unlocked/home/page_en.html

As well, I have an entire web page devoted just to maintaining, repairing, and using the Palm Z22, at:

http://kidbots.com/WEBADD/Z22_PALM_PILOT/Z22_PALM_PILOT.htm

As the Palm Z22 ages, there are issues with old and dying batteries, with the touch screen deforming and becoming useless, and various DATA connectivity issues, since the new Windows 64 BIT Operating Systems did not yet exist when the Z22 was diss-continued.

On my web page are links and USER information on the various solutions that they found, as well as a bit of information that I discovered, which is hitherto unknown!

Hope these tid-bits of help get your Palm Z22 up and running properly...

good luck

Z22 Handheld: what is the price of palm Z22 handheld...

I have seen them listed on Craigslist.com from $15 to 50. I have seen them online for over $300! I guess it is what the market will bear. If you have one that isn't working, there are parts on ebay that may allow you to keep you own running longer.

Can I hot sync z22 palm without the touchscreen?

The data on your old Z22 is very likely very secure, and the touch screen problem is very common - there are a few tricks to get the touch screen working long enough to transfer the data.
I have a web page entirely for maintaining, repairing, and interfacing your Z22 at:
kidbots.com/WEBADD/Z22_PALM_PILOT/Z22_PALM_PILOT.html

You can try these tricks, or just replace the screen for $9 U.S., since the screen only needs you take the unit apart and flip open a connector lock ...

I would strongly advise getting a solid plastic cover over your new Z22, since this is the key to keeping the screen working...

hope the information is of help to you

good luck

How to download current Zire info to new Palm Z22

My son said to just install the new software and see if it would transfer the data via the sync feature, and it did. The new Z22 software must have written over the existing Zire and incorporated all the data.
